Konami admits to PES 2008 PS3 problems

Posted on November 13th, 2007 at 05:20 EDT

Konami has identified a number of issues with the PlayStation 3 version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 that affects gameplay and are actively looking for a solution to the problems.

It was reported a few weeks ago that a patch for the game is a possibility and the official admittance of these problems could increase the chances of such a patch being released.

The specific issues were discussed on the FAQ page of the Konami website. Many PS3 gamers have experienced slow down when playing the game, and the developer's have put this down to the user not playing the game in high definition. Solution? Get a HD TV if you want to play PES 2008 on PS3.

But many users with a HD TV still experience the problems, which doesn't appear to be recognised by the Japanese company, although Konami is continuing to work on finding a solution for those people who do not have access to an HD TV.

The effect on gameplay quality in the online mode is also appreciated, although no solution is offered for this. Gamers have been put off by the quality and organisation of this year's online mode, but Konami are "working at full strength to find a solution as quickly as possible."

Other issues touched upon were problems with the game freezing in Master League and at the start of matches. These were both put down to problems with the game being installed on the PS3's hard drive.

Not the best first attempt at PS3 development by Konami then. At least they've admitted the problems and hope to sort them. Watch this space.

Pfffffft!!I don't understand why they hyped this POS so much when they couldn't even get rid of the glitches. And why give an option to install it when it will lead to freezes? No matter what any one says,EA is the only one who can make decent(official) sports games.
