Ubisoft has revealed that actress Kristen Bell is to appear as a key character in the company’s forthcoming title Assassin’s Creed, due out later this month.

The publisher and developer stated that Bell’s character would play an integral part in the game’s story, though specific details on the role were not divulged at the time.

Speaking on her role, Bell enthused, "I was a big video gamer growing up, so working on Assassin’s Creed is my chance to be a part of video game history.... I look forward to seeing what my character will look like and I can’t wait to play the game and see if I can beat it!"

"Kristen Bell is a remarkable actress who was able to bring her character to life in a dynamic way that I don’t think anyone else could have done properly," commented Assassin’s Creed Producer, Jade Raymond.

"Her professionalism and dynamic personality were a perfect fit for this project."

Assassin’s Creed is due out in North America on PS3 and Xbox 360  from November 13.
