COD4 map pack price cut, other promos coming Feb. 27

Call of Duty 4 fans are in for a treat later this month. Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling posted news revealing a big COD4 promotion on his blog.
First off, all you cheapskates will finally catch a break. Beginning February 24, the Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack will be offered for half of its regular asking price (it's currently priced at $9.99 USD). Then, starting Feb. 27, players will earn double XP through the weekend. Finally, a new playlist, Hardcore Headquarters, will be made available on the same day.
Cool beans, huh? You finally have a reason to pop in that Call of Duty 4 disc and reach level 10 prestige.

Yea, the same day that Killzone 2 comes out. All PS3 owners should be playing K2 that day. What a bad weekend to choose for PS3 owners.
I want to do it, but I think I will be playing Killzone 2 unless K2 somehow disappoints me. :lol:

IW... can mak games fine, but are terrible at supporting them.
For anyone who hasn't got the map pack, don't buy it now or ever. They suck and if anyone in your party doesn't have them you can't play anyway.
Hardcore HQ? Ew, I can't think of a worse game type. That's horrible. -

F*** IW. No support for anything PS3 now when they are going to be destroyed for players and popularity they send out this lame promo?
Is this a conspiracy between microsoft and infinity ward to hurt KZ2 buying totals and hurt its numbers for online play during opening weekend..Real cheap

IW can make a pretty good FPS, but their marketing sucks. Hardcore HQ and double exp., is that it? If they really want to make something of it, then they should give out 3 or 4 new maps for FREE. Since they wont do that, then they can shove that game up their rear.

I though this was about to happen..... when I opened my e-mail from Sony regarding their new downloadable content from the Play Station Store, I saw an icon for the map pack (their stil advertiseing it!) and the second I saw it before looking at the price I thought it was would be less money, but then I saw its still $9.99. is it going to stay at $5 forever or just for a certain time once it reaches that?

SCREW KILLZONE...theirs so much hype over that game its rediculous
but yah this hardcore headquarters and double expierence weekend just might give me another reason to keep on playing COD4

Yea like #2 said I hope they know that no one will care after Killzone 2 comes out unless the online really sucks A** which I highly doubt. Nice try tho... maybe if they would've tried this say atleast 2 months ago.

This is funny. Right when I FINALLY put down COD4 to play other games. I've been putting so many off because of the COD4 addiction. Well, I've beaten Resistance 2, and I will also be getting Killzone 2. I have to agree with #2 on this one. Also #3. I've got a super long list of games to play now and I don't think I'll be touching another COD until #6 comes out.
EDIT: I almost forgot, my taxes are coming back on that day! Bring on Killzone2!!!

I got the map pack free with the game, there was a code on the leaflet :D.
But still im not even sure that i want to buy KZ2 because the gameplay is putting me off and that fact that all my games are FPS

Killzone 2 will be only FPS for me for the next few months. I'll check into the new COD in the fall, if there is no other compelling additions to the amazing Killzone 2.
