Call of Duty 4 scores big at BAFTAs

Infinity Ward’s critically lauded shooter Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare snapped up three awards at last nights GAME British Academy Video Game Awards, with EA’s Dead Space also clocking up two gongs.
Modern Warfare scooped awards in the Gameplay, Story and Character GAME Award categories, as voted for by the British public. Meanwhile, seminal horror romp Dead Space walked away with two gongs, including Best Use of Audio and Best Original Score.
Other winners include Super Mario Galaxy for Wii, which nabbed Best Game, and LittleBigPlanet, which received the award for Artistic Achievement.

There was character development in COD4? I didn't even think the main guy spoke lol. Kudos to it getting the award but I do think there may have been a game out there with slightly better character development from 2008

Now if only Killzone 2 had as good of control as COD or anything other solid FPS it would be game of the year next year but it will be forgotten in about a month.

Dont agree with any of them awards,totally out of date n they dont know whats going on in the gaming world imo.Nothing for R2,mgs4,fallout 3 or lbp is just bs. and pmsl at super mario galaxy being best game .

Well it just goes to show that the BAFTA's are as big a joke as the Oscars.
CoD4 is ancient, we've already seen CoD 5 being released and CoD6 is already in full scale dev.
It really annoys me that the real talent in the industry gets left out in the rain.
Glad to see media molecule take one home but they should have got the top spot for simply taking platform gaming in a 2.0 direction.

If you are so in admiration of COD4 then change the control scheme to alt 2 it is the same thing......
Back on topic these choices suck with maybe exception of LBP and Dead Space the audio really did a great job setting the atmosphere

seriously these awards reinforce my theory that most gamers are idiots which in turn is why a load of crap games sell tons, at least most people on this site have a good taste in games

are they living under a rock? most of those games are old. these awards seem pretty irrelevent. i bet the cod4 guys were like "hey whats this? goty? wtf is BAFTA? meh..."
