Ridiculous DualShock 3 deals arise from importers

Want to experience rumble with your PlayStation 3 games? It's simple, just find an appropriate website and import yourself a DualShock 3 controller from the Land of the Rising Sun.
In reality, it's not so simple. Importers aren't importing the controllers because they care about you, but because they want to make a quick buck (insert surprised gasps). National Console Support, an importer based in New York, warns consumers of ridiculous deals regarding the fancy new PS3 controllers. Our personal favorite: In order to obtain one DualShock 3, it is necessary to purchase PlayStation 3 40GB console.
We know that people with any common sense can avoid that blunder, but it might be wise to wait until demand subsides and the DualShock 3 actually comes out to make sure you can keep some extra dough in your wallet.

Okay.. i didnt really get this article to be honest.. so what are they saying, what price are we talkin here? Expensive or... I mean who cares, a DuelShock3 would be cool to have - but geez its only got rumble. I'll stick with my regular Sixaxis until i can get a cool white one in 6-8 months time. who cares.

Yes but Sony is well known and disliked for shutting down importers...so now they are trying to leverage them? Sure thing. Sony just release it in the US, EU, and Australia already - what a bunch of twits.

Im from the UK, and I've just bought my DuelShock3 off ebay from a guy in France who had 10 for sale. It cost me £10 extra than a Six-axis Contorller but that was a small price to pay, I'm wasn't prepared to wait several months for it to appear over here, I wanted it now. :) ....(Oh and not at all 'richkaos' my Six-axis Contoller had broke and I need a new one. I didnt really want to buy another Six-axis knowing the DuelShock 3 was going to be released in a few months)

Meh...i've got 2 sixaxis controllers...but lets face it...how many people still play multiplayer games on the same screen...I only play like that if my girlfriend wants to play a game with me...other than that all my mates play online...that way you get the whole screen to yourself...

i got a DUal Shock 3 from www.japanvideogames.com
Its costing me total $73 with shipping
Oh well i get it half a year earlier, and i love the rumble feature, but anyways
i told people about it, and those that waited are now facing a $10 price increase in the controller (i got it $59.99 and now its $69.99)
but hey, if you have the extra money, i say get it.
Also if you dont want to pay shipping, just walk into the store, they have a walk-in store in california

I agree that it's silly to pay a high premium for something like this. On the other hand, according to some of the posters here you can get one for $10-$15 mark up then what the heck?
