Shingo Takatsuka, Producer of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer series, has stated that there were many features he wished to include in the PlayStation 3 version of PES 2008, but due to time constraints was unable to implement them.

Speaking with CVG, Takatsuka said, "Well I'm satisfied in that in the time frame we had, we were able to finish the code and release it on time, but that's only really within that time frame.”

"When I look at the capacity of what the PS3 can do, I feel very strongly that there's loads of things that I wanted to do, but I couldn't do them in this version."

Elsewhere, he hinted at fundamental changes in the development process of the series, such as focusing predominantly on next-generation platforms: "We've already started operations on this", he revealed.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is due out in North America next Spring, with a European release coming October 26.

What's the delay for the US? Doesn't make much sense to me?!? The soccer season has already started, releasing it next year kinda defeats the purpose of getting a game when the season will be half over!

I don't play sports games, nor do i care at all about this game, but now if this game turns out to suck then at least we know that PES 2009 will be awesome. But really, who cares?

*EDIT*   Retract my last sentence. Obviously there are lots of people who do care. Oh well.

At least he goes on record to say the PS3 is capable of things that the competition just can't do.

I read that their will be features in the PS3 version not found in the 360 version that will make this game superior to the 360 version. I supoose this is what the Producer is talking about and possibly makes Pro Evo 2008 on PS3 similar to the 360.

Oh well, you know for next time. The series needs a change, its been the same game since Pro Evo 3 and 2008 plays the same but has slightly better HD gfx. Konami should make the next installment a PS3 exclusive and concertrate developement and implementing the new features on PS3, make it the biggest upgrade ever. Gamers are buying Fifa and I know people you have gone from Pro to Fifa as EA make big changes to this franchise (the only franchise that they do change dramatically). I myself have moved away from playing the Pro series, however I'm not keen on FiFa.
