Beautiful Katamari was originally supposed to come to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so people were shocked when Namco Bandai announced it as a 360 exclusive.
Last week, we reported that Namco Bandai's website once again listen the game as coming to PS3. The listing was shortly removed, once again demolishing ours hopes of rolling big balls of stuff around on our shiny black systems.
Well, the situation has flip-flopped, as game director Jun Morikawa confirmed to 1up at the Tokyo Game Show that a Katamari game would be making an appearance on PS3. Note that this game will not be Beautiful Katamari, but an entirely new game... as new as rolling around a giant ball of stuff with hundreds of crazy colors and sounds can be.
We'll keep you posted on this upcoming Katamari game for the PS3.

When will Namco and Bandi realize that the PS3 is a better system then Xbox 360 and therefore make a bigger more detailed game to there likening. Besides, there are far more PS3 worldwide than 360's and the only reason why 360 is so big in america is because it's an american-made product.

That's good to hear, Make something original for each system not just a sloppy seconds port. It's doubt full the game will help 36* sales in japan, people just dont like them there. Even a big RPG from some of Japanese best known creators flopped on the thing. As for it bing popular here it's not because of it being american made, it's because it was the only next gen system availible for a whole year prior to the PS3 and there wasnt enough info out there to make people wait for it like what happened to the Dreamcast against the PS2.

I'm with sorrow880 - never saw the appeal of this. Played a demo on the PS2, and had no idea why all the mags seemed to be going nuts about it. As gaming experiences go, Katamari is probably the bigget non-event since...
Well, I can't actually complete that sentence. I've been gaming since I was 8; I'm now 36, and I can't remember ever playing a "game" so utterly pointless in my life.

Katamari hits the 360, and the ps3 gets a whole new version of the game. That seems fair its like in japan katamari is bleh on the 360 because of how they are not into microsofts consoles. But with the ps3 version of katamari with rumble + sixaxis = even more fun with controlls and gameplay.

This game will help PS3 far more than 360 in Japan. Not sure how much difference it'll make stateside.
