CoD: World at War is UK's third fastest selling title ever

Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War has debuted at the top of the UK software charts following its launch on Friday, becoming the third fastest selling title in the territory behind fellow Rockstar juggernaut’s GTA IV and GTA: San Andreas.
It doesn’t stop there, either. The World War II-based shooter has also surpassed launch week sales of its critically acclaimed predecessor, Modern Warfare, outselling the Infinity Ward FPS by a ratio of two to one.
It’s worth mentioning that sales data for World at War accounts for the PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 versions only.

i bet 80% of those who bought COD5 will want theirmoney bcak lol.
Killzone2>COD4>COD5>SOCOM lol.

This game isn't that good. Definitely. I would give it 8/10. And I also don't want my money back. But COD4 still is better. Most likley because it came out first and it was original, while COD5 is pure COD4 copy. What would Treyarch done if Infinity Ward last year wouldn't released COD4? Then COD5 would be a revolution or a big ****. Most likely second variant.
I bet COD6 next year will have bigger sales, because it's Infinity Ward. I trust them.
BTW
@1, you can't say that Killzone 2 is better than COD4 because it's not yet released. Yeah, it does look phenomenal, beta is incredible, and it's also my top 1 most wanted game, but game is three months away and while there is no true review of Killzone 2, you can't say it is better that COD4 or any other game.

cod4 is not better IMO. I think there is more to the game, more options and better and more realistic matches. I personally prefer COD5 to COD4.

COD 5 is a waste if you own a PS3, the best FPS on PS3 is R2 and if you get COD5 instead you are losing out on a great (better) FPS.

The funny thing about it is it didn't even have a British campaign. Yeah, it was a bit let down. The story coop mode is nice and after you finish the game you get a cool zombie coop mode, which is SWEET! The singleplayer itself is pretty nice, but the multiplayer was a bit of a letdown. The guns aren't that great and the vehicles, ehhh. They should have just stuck to the basics, no far out gemicks, and done an awesome 100% Pacific Theater FPS. They let you plant the Russian flag on top of the Reichstag, like in other games, but you never even get to storm the beaches on Iwo Jima and help raise the flag there. LAME! Most of the multiplayer maps seem to be Russian Front...yuk. And the ones that are Pacific oriented aren't that great. Just give me some dense jungle and a few bunkers and I'll be happy. I knew it was going to have some Europe to it, but it's like OVER HALF, or at least it seemed that way! It felt a lot like playing Red Orchestra, only back then, Russian Front was new and cool. This thing was advertised as Pacific Theater because they knew everyone was sick of European W.W.II, but were too ashamed to admit they added a whole bunch of European Theater stuff to it. Instead of doing a whole bunch of Russian Front stuff, they should have just made a bunch of those Zombie COOP maps. Uhhhhhhhh, just give us Vietnam already!

COD 4 in my eyes is still the best FPS ever made!! killzone 2 could come close but i doubt it.

This game truly sucks. I don't even bother buying COD games from Treyarch, because, tehy are NOT true COD games. Buying this junk is like buying a Starcraft game made by EA.. Your not a fan if you buy another companies spin off crap.
And to the people saying the best fps ever made.. LOLZ! have some respect for the games that INVENTED fps. Like wolfenstein 3d for the IBM. But then your probably to young to remember past PS2zzzz.

will be getting this pre owned for half the price, as i played it round a mates and it is essentially COD4 which isnt a bad thing but for me if they had provided more maps for splitscreen then it maybe a purchase, but for now im waiting for my Resistance 2 to drop through the door

Gonna wait for a price drop since development was led on 360. I don't have to wait for reviews to know the PS3 version is gonna get slammed somehow. And if there's a co-op mode similar to R2, then I might consider it sooner. I'm decidedly addicted to its co-op.

I'm glad I'm not alone on thinking that CoD4 is better than CoD5. I really do want my money back, CoD5 just doesn't have the same feeling that CoD4 did. The maps are better in 4, I can't stand the guns in CoD5. Everytime I even attempt to play 5 I get frustrated because of the crappy guns. Last night just got fed up and went back to CoD4 to own with my good ol' AK 47 :) Nazi Zombie Mode is the only redeeming thing about CoD5.

go cod5 woo it really deserves it!!!(sarcasm) its a great game but its nowhere near as good as cod4 and i hope to god that these sales dont spur on activision to give treyarch anymore cod titles while playin cod5 i keep thinking that i cud hopefully be playin beside captain price in the middle east saving the world from terrorists again and now i have to wait at least another year so thanks alot treyarch

I still like COD4 better, but COD WAW isn't that bad, or as bad as some people think it is. I am still curious about COD6 next year, since IW is making it, I will probably like it more than WAW, I just hope they fix all the issues with the online play. That is what I like most about WAW, the online issues aren't as many as COD4.

The only thing that COD5 has that is better than COD4 is that they have trophies and that zombie game mode. If only infinity ward released any updates like a new game mode (perhaps a MODERN zombie mode *wink*wink*) for Call of duty 4.... i mean EA Dice did it with Bad company by adding another game mode, why cant they?
