Donate to charity for God of War 3 hands on?

Sony's Santa Monica Studio recently posted a charity auction on CharityFolks.com to win a chance to get hands on time with their new unannounced PlayStation 3 title. Our guess: God of War 3.
According to the listing, the winner can bring a friend and the two of them will fly to Santa Monica to meet with the title's Gamer Director and Key Designers. Also they will have the opportunity to playtest a portion of the game. We expect it to be God of War 3 as both Cory Borlog and David Jaffe, who have worked on the God of War franchise so far, revealed tidbits of info confirming its development.
At the time of this writing the highest bid stands at $375, and when all is said and done, the proceeds will be donated to the "Big Brothers Big Sisters" organization. So if you have the money to spare and are anxious to see Sony Santa Monica's new PS3 title, there's plenty of incentive to place your bid.
Stay tuned for more information.

at bnolan56, who cares if anyone gets something back at least people who need support are getting it, who cares how they got the support ?
the god of war hands on is just an incentive anyways.

Anyone who donates gets something in return. You honestly think Bill gates is just giving money to charity.......I dont think so. Everyone gets a tax break, the more you donate the bigger the break. At any rate, things like this have been done before. I think its a great idea as it gets people that arent normaly interested in donating to a prticular charity to do so. I just wish I had some disposable income.

I gladly donate yearly but it just seems very wrong and dishonest to me when one donates then expects something in return. It kinda breaks the meaning of charity. Giving and not expecting return is the best feeling of all time (except for the feeling we're gonna get when we play KZ2)

Hey if this is what it takes for people to give during the holiday season then I am all for it. But it is sad that people who have stuff don't do this out of the kindess of their heart.

with that bid so high I could get another PS3 for that price rather than compete to play a portion of GOW3. Plus that downsize the whole meaning of charity. Giving and expecting nothing in return. This is more of a personal gain.

This is a good way for Santa Monica Studios to raise money for charity, if they said hey do you want to give money for charity, not as many people would give, but with an incentive like this, more people will give. So it works out. I cant wait for God of War3, the first 2 were amazing, and im dying here waitng for the third.
