Don't expect Home until the end of the year

At Sony's PlayStation Day today in London, Kaz Hirai announced that gamers will have to wait until the end of the year until a publicly released version of the title will be made available. With delays plaguing the online social networking application, it seems as though it may finally be coming to an end. Though we've heard these words before, "expect it now/here/there/future," it creates a sense of disbelief that we can expect it at the end of the year as well.
With LittleBigPlanet scheduled for release in October though, it wouldn't be all too shocking (probably would) to see Home release shortly thereafter. This would make a lot of sense for Sony, considering LBP is expected to have a lot of Home integration. Kaz Hirai went on record stating that Home will not open up until he is happy with it.
Doubtful to hear anything else about Home today in London, we'll keep you updated if something does come up.

Figures. I kinda enjoy how sony shoots themselves in the foot sometimes. LIke, "lets take HOME and Killzone 2 and really build up the hype"...then when it comes to release times they just let go to heck. Killing the momentum they had for the titles and causing greif to the community they built via promos etc
I love my PS and I want to see it be the charter topper I know it can be but silly things like this can really hurt perception. Much like the GTA PSN issues. Which may not be sony's fault per say, but media is media and they can skew it any way they want to.

@ MrAce: Nooo!!! You summoned the beast known as in-game XMB. Now that's all we'll here for the next 8 weeks.
---
@ RotaryMatt: I can only hope you spend so much time with your 360 that you forget this site exists. I guess it is fun to pay $50 a year just for the service and then pay for the content. Have fun with all the racist 8-year-olds on Halo!
---
@HazdoTT: They are putting in in-game XMB, so just wait. I don't know when, but I can't see them waiting until the end of the year for it.
---
I was looking forward to Home but I'd much rather have a working product.

they said ingame xmb is comming around summer. I've said it before and I'll say it again the XMB has nothing to do with Home, they CAN release one without the other. That said I fully expected this because Home just isnt ready there are numerous problems and the developers are faar too slow and complacent, that they even tried to hint months ago that it might be ready soon fills my mind with confusion and pain

**SHOCK**
Sony has delayed something...again. Oh well at least we know the PS4 will have an excellent start, what with HOME, Killzone 2, FF 13, & XMB all finally ready for launch. Or will we stilll be waiting. Why do I keep buying their crap. (Stomps on Sony Ericsson Phone)

Yep. Next we'll hear it's delayed till Mid 09, then end of 09, then it'll be available at launch for the next Playstation platform. Awesome, Sony.

I don't expect Home at all...
*
What I do expect is delays for SOCOM and Little Big Planet to be announced any minute now. It's complete RIDICULOUS that we don't have in-game XMB by now. There's NO EXCUSE for that. I have a launch PS3 and I've been waiting through the entire life span of this unfinished machine, playing 8 hour games. F'n ridiculous.

yeah this isnt funny anymore I feel as though the hype for this game is gonna die out eventually, people will return to their old lives. when/if it does eventually comes out it'll hardly be noticed.

this TOTALLY SUKS!!!!!!! i feel myself for ONCE loosing faith in Sony. the one thing that would push me over the edge is if Resistance 2 or in-game XMB gets delayed. Sony is so disappointing now. :,(

We just need in game XMB damnit!!! I don't care about some freakin interactive place to meet people. Thats what real life places like concerts, bars, clubs, ect... are for, MEETING PEOPLE!!!! Just give us in game XMB so we can compete with x-box. I have both and I am regreting buying as many games for my ps3 instead of my xbox because of this.

I still dont' understand why people continue to call Home a game. ITS NOT! Do you consider Facebook or Myspace or 1up.com a game? Then why for F*** sake would you consider Home one. It's a social networking program. I'm really getting sick of all the cry baby's on here. I don't like delays more then anyone else but there is nothign we can do about it.

its just that talk of in game XMB and Home gets out to early and we get excited about it. Sony is trying to make people get interested in PS3 but then are stupid by delaying it, and telling us about it and making us wait a long time till we recieve it. possible its for Sony to make us stick with the PS3 and wait. Sure im excited for both XMB and Home, but for me i dont mind waiting, im happy with wut the PS3 has offered soo far. even tho both would be a kick A$s edition
