JoWooD, publisher of Gothic IV, has announced that Spellbound Entertainment will be the new developers for their upcoming current gen title.
Spellbound Entertainment is a strong company whose past game motives have focused on "Creating Emotions"---part of their motto. The emotions came in the form of Western Games such as Desperados 1 and Desperados 2, the wonderful world of Robin Hood, and the zany world of Tycoon Deluxe.
A title that's definitely a change in their profile, Gothic IV takes a turn into an open world environment, with a dark setting fused in a writhe atmosphere. The fourth part opens with the Zuben and his friends still battling the origins of the Orc invasion.
No release date has been announced.

Now that is some news - keep it coming. Gothic series has been fantastic. One of the most underappreciated games out there - it's a rare treat.
Im confused about this forum - last I looked I thought it was about Playstation and not IMDB. So why all the news about stupid Bluray this or that? The news should be focused on games.
News about Gothic coming to PS3 makes me a bit more reassured that my console is not dead yet. I dont care if Bill & Ben the frikken flower pot men, Cars, Snow White and Bambi are all coming out on Blowray. Please PSU stay focused on games.

Gothic is a series of games that run on Windows 9x and Linux - we are up to Gothic 3 now so this new one will be Gothic 4 right?... The developer (Pirahna Bytes) is a small company in Germany and they have built a cult following for their high quality adventure RPG - similar in someways to Oblivion. It first appeard in 2000/2001 but only hard core gamers will know it as it was not advertised - you kind of had to know about it... The fact that it may be coming to a console and in particular the PS3 is a good thing as its not just another cheesey RPG churned out to make a buck from silly little boys who buy anything they are told to - you know the type... the easily influenced ones, those who's are not the sharpest tool in the shed.........
As far as my thoughts on Gaming sites reporting on Gaming - I think thats a good thing. I think that reporting on Movies is better handled by a Movie web site. If there is nothing objective about a site it quickly earns a reputation as being BS. The tell tale sign that a site has become BS is that it occupied by just a small handfull of dorks who all agree with the news at hand and say things like "good news" "keep it coming" Yeah PS3 rocks, I'll buy that... You know stupid stuff like that... As far as me leaving because the site is weak - I'd love to but there are very few sites for PS3 users. All the big sites that I use to frequent have all become a little anti-Sony and its getting very boring for me listening to people jabber on about consoles and games I dont own. As far as PS3 go's I think/hope its going to get there in the end but I am a little disapointed at the slow pace. I am also sick of Bluray because I want games right now and dont really care about movies.
