Logitech has finalled revealed the official wheel for Gran Turismo 5. Today at the Game Developer's Conference, Logitech gave fans a first look at their newly titled, Logitech Driving Force GT. Release dates have also already been announced for the product as March 28 was given for Europe, while North America has a April 17 release.
"We’re excited to be working with Polyphony Digital again to deliver a wheel that will satisfy the needs of car enthusiasts, like me, around the world,” said Ruben Mookerjee, Logitech’s director of product marketing for gaming.
“People who love the striking realism of the Gran Turismo racing series will discover that Logitech’s latest wheel will allow them to experience the cars the way they were meant to be driven. With the Logitech Driving Force GT, you’re not playing games anymore - you’re racing!”
This will obviously be a must buy for real racing enthusiasts who can afford it, as the $149.99 USD price tag seems to be a steep price to expect from the consumer. Hopefully, they'll discount it by a percentage if you're buying it with Gran Turismo 5 down the road.

That looks absolutely awesome. Definitely going to get me one of these.
psn id: gingo.... looks awesome but i think i'll stick with the controller since i cant afford it
Looks awesome,but 150 is a bit steep.
ok for 149.99 i hope this has feedback
When I was younger I used to build an etire setup that included a comfortable chair, T.V., playstation, lots of covers, and a Madcatz racing wheel. Now that I have a job I think I might do this for real. And that wheel would be the one to go with. It'll be a few months, but I'll post some pics when its done. Actually, I don't know how long it will be. Depends on when the game comes out! :P
duh ppeople if u dont want it don't buy it lol... its an extra for all thhose mega fans out there =]
I will consider this...
This is super disappointing for me. I hope Polyphony still solidly supports the G25. That's going to be my choice hands down.
How much!!!
I wonder if this wheel will be compatible with other racing games that come out on the PS3 as well and not just GT5.
mant that looks fnnn bad azzz I will buy it I hope that they do sometype of bundle that would be cool.
@ static-x
Driving Force GT it WILL have force feedback, hence the name "Force".
$150 is a little steep, but for those die hard driving fans of the series might find it a must have. I might buy it if the game looks really nice in person on the HD LCD TV (1080i) with a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound system. Ah crap!! more $$ to spend!!!
I got a G25 for GT5 so it better work with the damn game. This wheel looks poxy as, it dosen't have a clutch or nice big flappy paddles like the G25.
and i though sony said the GDC was about software and not hardware.... XD
dam nvm its not official wheel xD
sweet!!!!1
that looks good whats the price for UK???
150 bucks. nah. would rather buy more games but, it looks cool though
lokks nice i might get it but wats the red knob for ?
I want, but...I'm broke
This looks so bad compared to the G25 logitech wheel, which now FULLY supports GT5 with clutch and all... its also double the price... Much better wheel, leather, stainless steel and separeate gear shifter!
hummmmmm shame the Gear Stick is on the wrong side, guess I would have to get used to that. Also, I hope this Wheel will work with all other driving games like Dirt too, otherwise theres no way I'd buy it, especially at that price.
thats cool two questions though,,
will this be able to work with other racing games later on?
do you think you could adjust the position of the Gear shift so you can have it on either left or the right?
if both them are yes, then i defintely will watch this
That so uber GT fan written all of it. XD
Ouch $150 seems like alot but, you pay a good $100 for a cheap a$s rip off, so $150 really isn't bad for a logitech, who makes amazing wheels.
That wheel is complete sh**. I just can't believe that this is the official GT5 wheel.
I won't buy it for sure. I don't want a 2nd DFP with a horn and with the ability to change the cars settings while racing.
If you really want the real experience, get a Logitech G25 with the clutch, the H 6 gear shifter and the separated shifter. It's maybe more expensive but its better than this piece of crap.
