Home's shopping center to stock up tomorrow

Window shopping in a mall with no merchandise is like playing a video game with a dead controller. Thankfully, TedTheDog has confirmed on the Official European Forums that Home will be receiving some much needed maintenance tomorrow around 7 AM GMT. Included with this maintenance is the addition of purchasable items within Home's shopping center. Gone are the days where staring into an empty window is a past time, now gamers can get their hands on some new duds.

TedTheDog's official statement is below.

"Home will be offline from 7am UK tomorrow for a few hours whilst some further changes are made to the server side. Once it comes back up we will also be putting some items into the Shopping Centre to help test the mechanics there. Again, our long term beta volunteers will be reporting and logging any problems and we will be publishing a list of all known issues shortly."

The Lemming effect in Home seems to slowly becoming to an end as individuals can soon branch out and have a sense of uniqueness to them. Whether this happens through new clothing made available or furniture, things are going to be a lot better. This is reason enough to go Home for the holidays.

I'm in the beta but am confused when they say "buy merchandise" in home... are we talking real money or some kind of credits within Home?  I've seen reports of you getting money in Home based on your trophies, so I'm not sure which way this is going...

That will be nice to have.  Oh wait.....that's right....I STILL haven't received my frickin beta invite from Qore yet.  And yes, I have been a annual subscriber since August.  Sorry to complain readers.  Just a little depressed and feel left out.  I feel I've contributed quite a bit over the last couple months to the wallets of sony.

Cool.  I love Home.  I haven't been playing many actual games lately since I got it.  I can't explain it either because all I do is bowl and play pool.  Pool is my favorite.

Home had stuff in the mall prior to 1.0 release.  They took it out cause it was doing the load tests.  With said at that time the clothes and furniture were free but you had to "purcahse" them at the mall.  You just go to the store select the item and its yours basically.  That said I could see microtransactions for some items in the future.

Hope that helps some of you out.

Home was announced too soon and is developed to slow.. sorry.. Sony I lost interest.. go to public beta to make a decent test and let's look at what you have spent 3-4 years on.. You don't really know if this is what people want.. would be sad if all your money was spent on nothing.

Haven't been invited yet and it's getting pretty annoying reading all of this stuff about Home and not ever actually trying it out. I've been looking forward to this ever since it was announced and I am just bummed out. Yes I will give it a shot once it is FINALLY released but I feel my whining is a little justified at this point. :D
