Killzone 2 levels to take 45-50 mins to complete?

Playr, an updated version of GamerTV on Bravo in the UK, recently hosted an episode where a Sony representative played and talked about the highly anticipated shooter, Killzone 2. On the show, the rep spoke about a number of things including AI, weapons and the like.

The one thing that caught our attention was the mention of "45 to 50 minute levels." With such massive levels could come some truly unforgettable experiences. This, however, begs the question, how many levels will be present in the final game? We personally don't want five or six hour-long levels in lieu of thirty fifteen minute levels.

While we check our math, you can voice your opinion on the matter in our comment section. Would you rather have fewer, longer levels or shorter, more plentiful levels?

the first game had large levels broken up by checkpoints. You;d enter a stage, battle a short way, then get to an area where if you died you'd restart there, sometimes you'd even see a cinema. I'd expect this to continue with this game because honestly who wants to replay a level that's an hour long if you die.

I'm sure you can save at checkpoints. Lets all not be so freaking retarded.

Well the original was very long surprisingly, had many checkpoints, cinematics and many levels so i assume it will be the same. Probably will be a 2 disc game

i just hope that the game isn't short because most of these games that are this long wind up to be a short game, but i just hope its not

I'd rather have fewer, lengthier levels. Like Halo.

Well i'm gonna say 10-15 levels would be appropriate. Thats roughly 9-14 hours of gameplay, which is acceptable. It'd be better if it had 20+ levels but... i kind of doubt it going by the size of the levels to begin with (2GB @ 10 levels = 20GB - already half way there).

I doubt it will be 2 discs. For those of you that don't know... a Blu-Ray disc(PS3 disc) is 54 gbs(correct me if i'm wrong). PS2, X-box, X-box 360, etc. are only 8gbs. None the less.... I can't wait till Killzone 2...and its MASSIVE levels!!!!!! Hopefully it's worth its delay until Feb of 09.

oh my goodness! when i saw this i thought it meant the WHOLE GAME was going to be 45-50 minutes! i would have freaked out... good thing i relized it was only each individual level... that i can handle, and besides, the more gameplay the better :)

longer levels with lots of action are always better. hopefully they wont have any puzzles or find the key cr@p just 2 make the game longer

thats what im talking about,im sick of games being the same size for years, they haven`t really changed since the megadrive/nintendo days except for rpg`s. they should make first fps massive..thank you its clear it can only be done on the ps3 not the 360

    Each level = 45-50 minutes/2GB.  10 levels = 20GB/7.5-8.3 hours.

This assumes Guerilla only used a 25GB BD.  If they used a 50GB like MGS4 and R2, we could see 15-20 levels = 30-40GBs = 12.45-16.6 hours PLUS multiplayer.

Too bad it's only 30fps and 720p, but I couldn't ask for much more.
