Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 getting PS3 retail box?

PlayStation 3 owners wishing to purchase the downloadable Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 may have the option of buying a boxed edition of the game, complete with an eight-page manual, one month of free access to Marvel Digital Comics, and 2,000 Capcom-Unity points, among other treats. A new GameStop listing shows that the Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 Retail Pack is set for release on August 13 for $19.99 USD -- that’s $5 more than the cost of the regular game.

Of course, like other boxed releases for downloads, the package will not include a game disc; rather, you’ll get a redemption code to get the title online. The package will also include a nifty DVD case with sleeve, and a data disc containing exclusive artwork (wallpapers, icons, character and content art), four trailers and screenshots. GameStop has not provided an image of the retail box yet.

Since Capcom did not comment on the retail box release, we are keeping this news as a rumor, but it’s not unlikely that we’ll see a retail boxed version of the game at some point.

There does not appear to be an Xbox 360 version of the retail box, so this could be a PS3 exclusive.

    MVC2 is dope but i like the first one alot better.  MVC2 has updated graphics as far as level design goes but the stages and the music in the first one are way better.  MVC2 also seems to have alot of characters that aren't really needed.

    wait, I dont understand why you needed to make new IDs, your information is stored in Sony's PSN servers. all you should have had to do is restore the drive and enter your login information again. I hate to say this but it sounds like you bought replacements for stuff that you should have been able to redownload for free. Remember; Even if you had to buy a brand new system you still have 5 total downloads of each downloadable game. (unless you were gamesharing...)

    As much as I dislike the tred of digital downloads as of late, I hesitate to use this as an example of why it's bad because it sounds like you make have made a mistake, although that would be another reason not to try and force people into it since it's obviously not something every understands if this is the case.

    nice deal especially for those who don't have access to a credit card. :)  The more players available for online, the better. ^_^ I'll be buying it off psn anyways though, i doubt the box version come out in EU.

    @FizzyFlakes

    After reading you replies couldn't help but wonder, do you even own a ps3? You didn't need to set up a new account, just re-login to your old one. If you forgot your pass just hop on a computer go online and reset password via email.
