Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus Review

Posted on January 11th, 2008 at 05:44 EDT
With Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops as great as it was, this game is going to do nothing but collect dust. Unless you’re a die-hard MGS fan, you’ll have no reason to really own this title at all.
Pros
  • + Quality visuals
  • + Realistic weaponry
  • + Online play
Cons
  • - Some visual tearing
  • - Repetitive mission objectives
  • - No storyline

Worth a look!

(continued from previous page) ...yes, sadly it does. Elsewhere, the load times on the other hand aren’t too bad to speak of, taking roughly anywhere between 10-15 seconds.

Overall Portable Ops Plus is a near disappointing experience. With a lackluster offline game, people who aren’t Wi-Fi equipped at home may find this game a waste of money. Ops + could have been made a lot better and you’ll probably find yourself scurrying back to the original for a better experience throughout.

Quality over quantity is how the old saying goes. There is no reason to having a lot of something if there is no real purpose. At least this is how Eric Lempel, PlayStat...

as much as i would love to bash this review, i can't....very well written review, really weighed in as a factor as to whether this game should be a purchase or not, which is what i believe all reviews should do....i mean there's ign and gamespot, but it's nice to see the minor league editors bring some new fresh air into the scene

the next psp should be like the iphone and have those buttons pop up on screen to write names and download video of the net.  but, there's  not good psp games except MGS games for mgs they need to make the camera easier to move around

I think it was a perfect review for this game. Game reviewers in general need to be handing out more 5's in my opinion. Games are rated from 0 - 10 not 6 and up.

to make a long story short.... if you want to create an army and go to war online, then the game is for you... if you want a story, get the first one... but for 20 USD, the expansion ain't that bad...
