New Prince of Persia to hit before 2009

Ubisoft Montreal announced in a press release today that you can expect the next installment of the Prince of Persia franchise before the end of 2008. The title will be made available across both the XBOX360 and the PlayStation 3.  This will be the first footsteps that the Prince will be taking into the Next Gen world and if Assassin's Creed is anything to go by, we're sure you can have a lot to look forward to.

Up until now, Prince of Persia has sold over 10 million units worldwide and that number will only grow with the release of their new title this year.  Not much else is known about the game but as more is released, we'll be sure to keep you covered.

    @ kudo and Emo, you might've not liked POP but to me it's always been a great game.  Some better than other but overall it's must have for me.
    It's really a great game, but maybe it's not your type of game.

    I liked all of them. Though I will admit the last one started to lose some of it's appeal. I hope next gen hardware can bring this game back to it's greatness. I have high hopes for this one!!

    I liked all the Prince of Persia games. I thought the the third one was going to be the last in the series, so it will be interesting to see how they bring it back to life.

    psn id: gingo.... the first POP was definitely the best imo, hopefully the climbing mechanics will be taken from assassins creed becasue they were awesome

    Prince of Persia is a Classic one, I really enjoyed all of them. The only thing I will like to have is the AC climbing and be able to OPEN DOORS =D

    10 bucks says this will be yet another buggy release with freezing issues by ubisoft.  still looking forward to it though...

    I tried starting the series but Sands of TIme can't seem to be played on the PS3.  The lag is so bad I have to fight everyone with the same moves.

    i loved all 3 of them. this one is just dispointing.

    i hate their "Cel-shaded animation"   it looks like some asian games.

    they have made enough changes to changes to the point that i am turn me off . who's bad idea was all this??

    change the prince's look; story line, enemies, sand of time, oh and he only get to fight one enemy at the time. and it Cel-shaded animation  (who said we liked that on PS3?)!!!!!!!!!!

     i want my old prince back dude.
