New video details in-game XMB and user trophies

A new video for firmware 2.4 has hit the net, providing a detailed look at the latest features including in-game XMB and user trophies.     That's nice, but I read in PS3News.com that currently in-game XMB is only for PS3 games. I dunno man, that kinda sucks, 'cause I bet that I'm not the only one that plays PS2 games on his PS3, anyway, I'll take what I can get. Also, the time/date notification looks sloppy, it looks like it was just thrown in there, why can't it look as nice the news notification?

    FAKE and i wouldnt be parading this video if i were that guy as hes tipping of sony as to there being a way to hack the system and be able to get games for free on a sd card well done video maker

    The time/date is just the same as it is on PSP which looks great. Simple and polished. It'll look even better in a 16:9 HD XMB, not this 4:3 SD demonstration. Now the Information Board, THAT looks like crap. Some of the edges of the overall graphic look rough, the text scrolls in from a hard edge.

    @ Alakratt. 360 still doesn't have dashboard support for their old xbox games i believe so hey quit your whining, you got in-game xmb.

    You guys are such idiots! The video is from a DEVELOPMENT KIT, thats why he can load games from an SD card and why there is the option of "Dummy XMB (in game) debug". It says dummy so that it can simulate in game XMB so that developers can test if there game still runs properly with in game XMB

    I think it is possible this is a dev kit PS3 thats why they can load from the memory card and that there iare other options. It is a de bug system. Plus they can not show the friends list incase their tag appears completeing giving away who leaked the video, come on people think.

    I have feelings that this system they are showing is a hacked PS3(homebrew, torrent). The guy is loding games from the SD Card. The games are all hacked in that SD Card so there's a chance that this v.2.4 is also hacked. Good job, you cant fool me.

    It seems fake because the time keeps going in the game most of the time the game should pause when you bring up the XMB but im just saying...

    this video looks old and boring and fake but have some realness to it looks like the video was copy from a PSP and edited to look like a PS3 it has a lot of fakeness to it and plus if it was real Sony would have authorise YouTube to remove the video because its way before the actual release of v2.40 and the vid is still up, I'm not buying it.

    I assume that the news that it only works in PS3 games will only last for a while, Later updates should make it work with the older games too, I mean why wouldnt it eventually?

     

    If this is a Leaked video it's because sony dosent want it to be shown in an imcomplete form. that's why the video seems so off I think. He's not really playing and just seems to be switching it on and off at certain moments to test it like a beta tester would to see if there are any moments that would cause it to crash.

    You guys don't have to believe me but those new Icons that were shown were made from theme creator, and then he made a video of the xmb, made it trasparent, and overlayed it on the video game video. Amazing what windows movie maker can do.

    The song, coupled with the less than exciting presentation of what he was doing (why did he look for pictures on his SD card when they're weren't any on there?) made me stop watching the video.

    This looks like a dev. kit anyways. What were those "debug" options? dev. tools i say.

    And the Trophie text glows which looks pretty darn real, if this is fake then im impressed, looks official. Oh, Trophies are a like Xbox's achievements.

    yeah u guys are idiots because explain the no trophies in the trophy section ..... An why is it that when theres proof its fake .... An why does the game have to be pause to be able to access the XMB ..... an whoever leak this why would he show the friends list so SONY or whoever would find out who this person is... its probably a developer thats what explains the SD Card with games on it...

    So do you guys think Sony will get off their lazy A**es and launch this thing or not? It's a feature that should have been available since launch. My 360 has had in game "xmb" since launch. This and Home are two good examples of how Sony really has no idea what they're doing. Like I have said before, 3rd party developers aren't the only ones having problems developing for this system. Obviously Sony themselves still have alot of learning to do. Also, the new PS store is good, but why is PSN sooooo slow? I can download a 1gb demo off xbox live in 10-15 minutes, but it takes PSN 1-2 hours??

    There's a saying in my country that goes: " If they stick it to you, you scream and if they get it out, you cry..." there were lots of people complaining about the delay of ingame xmb, and now that's close to release then they complain because they don't care about it? Please stop the "I'm too cool for that sh!t" attitude. About the vid, it seemed somewhat fishy to me but I give reasonable doubt.

    how big is the SD card if it's able to fit ridge racer on it unless it's a demo or a 32 GB card
