In an email dispatched by a leading retailer of video games in the United Kingdom, GAME, has notified its customers that Gran Turismo 5 will not be made available for its consumer until 2009. The constant pushback of this title is starting to become a growing pain for most gamers around the world, but it seems even worse for the Europeans lying in wait.
The email released also pushed the sale of Gran Turismo Prologue in the UK for £19.99. As many know this title will feature 5 tracks with 40 cars available on release. The game will also allow for online racing as well.
Our sympathies go out to the racing enthusiasts across the pond for the delay.

Yeah, it was me that brought up this article, it's a shame though isn't it, not till 2009 oh well. Seems like 08 is getting weaker and weaker, so is 08 still the year of PS3 becuase it seems 360 is getting more announced exclusives while our exclusives are getting delayed.

PS3 still has a major spine in 2008, I really believe Gears 2 is Microsofts wad for 08, I guess my theory of game, then movie, game 2, then movie 2, was wrong for the Gears Series. But look at the bright side, Killzone 2, MGS4, Final Fantasy 13 (maybe), Resistance 2. Its shaping to be a pretty solid year. Dont forget about HAZE too!

Why am I not surprised. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 fall releases such as Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and Final Fantasy XIII get delayed until 2009. I know one thing for sure, none of those games better get delayed because the PS3 needs those games this year.
Video game delays will only do more damage to the PS3 and the PS3 has yet to take off with a hyped video game title. At E3 2008, the developers for Final Fantasy XIII, Killzone 2, and Resistance 2 better have some Official release dates in 2008 because if they don't, I think that I'm going to go crazy.
To me, the only PS3 exclusive game that will be guaranteed to come out in 2008 for sure is MGS4 and possibly Haze, but the rest of the really hyped PS3 exclusives are near late 2008 and I wouldn't be surprised if they got pushed to 2009.
I do remember that Gran Turismo 4 was delayed multiple times for the PS2, so this is probably just one of the many delays to come. But I guess Europe can look on the bright side because they are getting GT5 Prolouge, and Prolouge will be a pretty solid racing game.
Maybe if Polyphony Digital would have just scrapped a Prolouge version of GT5 and just worked on the Full Game, maybe it wouldn't have been delayed. I hope that GT5 doesn't get delayed until 2009 for the U.S.

Question is will be release in JP/NA in 2008? IF not then whole wide world wont have GT5 till 2009. I wouldn't jump on the gun based on a retail source

Has nobody here seen a list of PS3 exclusive games from Sony ALONE? It more than matches the diversity, quality and quantity of first party + third party exclusives on other platforms.. then there ARE actually some great third party exclusives too. http://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=31654 Pull your heads out of this depressed state and start getting excited about the dozens of games THAT ARE COMING and realise that more will be announced at Gamer's Day, E3, The Leipzig Games Convention, TGS, PLAYSTATION PREMIERE 2008 (if there is one this year) and so on. All this whining from fans.. you're making ME WHINE and I'm usually so tolerant for feedback comment crap.

Its a shame that the UK isn't given the same release as the USA - on the same release date. It is the rest of Europe that requires language translation work. Anyway, GT5 delays are not a big deal. This will give me more time to play, enjoy and make the most of GT5P.

To be honest, this is completely unacceptable, in my opinion. Just read a comment saying that the PS3 is Universal, can anyone confirm this and confirm that if I were to import a US version, I would still be able to play this on my PS3?
Thanks :)

Importing it is not the point, its the principle same as a comment I have made before the games are not reigon locked they are finished when released in Japan/USA so why are we always months behind "Rock Band, GTP, High Velocity Bowling" just to name a few........ Come on Sony start kicking some butt!!!!!!!!!

It is a BIG company behind GT HD they have been making this game way before the PS3 was even released and we have to wait another year to eighteen months before its release, by then the graphics are not going to look too impresive against the other games that will be released at the same time as GT HD.

I received this e-mail, and believe that the 2009 quoted may be a typo.
The e-mail links to the purchase of GT5P here, and if you read down that page, you will see this:
"Gran Turismo 5: Prologue will allow PlayStation 3 owners to whet their appetites for 2008's big hot-rod racer in style – with a cut-price preview that plays in glorious high definition!"
Also, while it is true that anyone can import this or any other game, a big part of Prologue is the online racing - and with many games, the servers are region locked. So if you get a US version and your friend gets a UK version, there's always a chance that you may not be able to play together.

Sony...h.e.l.l.o..? Anyone "home"...No? Nothing.
PS3 is the console you have when you dont have a game to play. Seriously fix this s.hit up and get your act together paleeease! Delaystation with gimped ported 2nd rate games that are a year old. Plus no home to go to. This sh.it sucks dogs balls. They have been yakkin on about GT5 for two years now...Not released in EU until sometime in 2009? What a F.ukin joke.
