It's been a long time since we've had a disappointing PlayStation Store network update. Thankfully, today's doesn't break the trend. This week gamers are treated to a classic adventure as a prince, a less conventional adventure with Gabe and Tycho, a couple of demos, one massive mound of musical madness and more (... and my awesome alliteration).

Check out the full North American update below.

    I highly doubt there will be any "epic demos" in concerns to LBP or Resistance 2.

    So the difference between a good update and a bad up date is "demos vs no demos", is that it?  Question.  Are demos popular because it's a way to game for free?  Do you guys play the demo over and over while you save cash for a full game?  Is that how it goes?  Like a free rental for 1 level (or less) of play?  Beacuse I've seen great updates (I think they're great if there just A LOT of new stuff...quantity) without demos, and people on here whine about how it's a "waste of time".

    @#7  To me a great update is one that offers a selection of demos, games, add on content, videos, themes and wall papers.  I think today's update is a very good one.

    @Odium

    Pretty much. Let's go through the list here. I already have Valkyria demo, from Qore. No, I'm not giving Lego Batman a try, sorry. I'm not wasting my money on Penny Arcade or Prince of Persia, there are much, much better things to use my money on. Going through the list of downloadable content, everyone single one of those things are poor add ons for poor games, except for maybe yoda for Soul Calibur. Even though I have Rock Band, all those songs for Guitar Hero and Rock Band are just a waste of money, unless there's one song you really, really want. Which usually isn't the case. And trust me, I know because I've bought some before, It's pretty much a one time play through. Going through the downloadable videos, there's no games there that are interesting enough to even blow time on the download, except maybe Socom, and so that makes 2 downloads for me now? (Even though I won't be downloading Socom video because it's probably already uploaded online to 10 times faster servers.)

    PS3 themes? I'll take that Wipeout theme.

    Overall? An update that does not interest me. I wouldn't even be turning on my PS3 this entire week if it weren't for the godly resistance 2 beta. (&*^&^ing religious twits and the LBP delay.

    Woo, LEGO Batman demo! And good to see that they finally decided to bring Prince of Persia to the PS3- I bought it on XBL when it came out, great game. And I may or may not pick up the Penny Arcade game- I've heard good things and I enjoyed the demo on XBL, but I think I'll save my money for the flux of games coming next week.

    @ 7 .... Don't be a d0uche' bag.. A Demo is a way to try the game before you buy it.  RETARD!!!! How long have u been a gamer 2 weeks.  Or is it that mommy and daddy still buy your games for you! PUTZ!!!

    @Odium

    People tend to think exactly like that; you hit it on the head. Personally, I love demos. I'm waiting for a demo of one of the games on PSU's Top 20 Games of Fall feature. Valkyria is good, but most people don't appreciate jrpg's.

    Lemmy rules!  Good update, I kinda giggled to myself when I saw GHWT song packs when it isnt releasing til Sunday.  ill be happily purchasing when I go get my copy though.  And one feature I wish that would be added to PSN and XBL, is the ability to preview the songs on RB2, and GHWT, that way if you never heard of the band/song, you can listen before you drop your dollars on it.  Having both RB2 and GHWT is gonna get pretty expensive.

  23. Razerblaze

    • 9:22am BST - October 24th, 2008

    @22, You can in fact preview the songs in Rock Band and RB2, just use the in-game Music Store instead of going through the psn.  It also shows you the song's difficulty so you don't have to waste money on a ridiculously easy song unless you just like the song.  Has saved me a ton of money :P
