Sony America’s corporate communications director Patrick Seybold has revealed that PlayStation Portable sales in the U.S. increased by 300 percent during the three days following the release of PSPgo last Thursday.
In addition, Seybold also confirmed that the uptake of downloadable games via the PlayStation Store rose by 200 percent on the back of Sony’s latest handheld revision.
Speaking to Gamasutra, Seybold commented, "The launch of PSPgo has generated strong consumer interest in the overall PSP platform and the PlayStation Network's digital content offering.”
"With several blockbuster games launching digitally and on UMD in the coming weeks - from LittleBigPlanet to Assassin's Creed Bloodlines - we expect this momentum to continue and look forward to a strong holiday season for both the PSPgo and PSP-3000."
Sony Europe said Tuesday that PSP hardware sales rose by 120 percent in the region as a result of the launch of PSPgo on October 1.

I think the only who people who complain about the PSPGo, are current PSP-owners. I don't have one, but I'm saving up, and I think it's nice with the two versions. Current PSP-owners probably thought it was the PSP2, or something that was meant to be an upgrade, and therefore lashing out at the price and the no-UMD thing. And if you think it's too expensive, then get the 3000, it does almost the same thing...

Is this just console sales or games too? I know a lot of games were sold from the PSN store. I don't have a PSP but the go interested me. I would like to see a price drop though. It will cost a lot of cash once you get the accessories and a few games. =/ Although for me a lot of old games that are good have a great price tag.

I want a PSP Go i just dont have the money that it costs, the only downfall i see is that the games on PSN are dearer and unlikely to drop in price like it stores for a physical copy.
I just hope that when retail stores sel Digital content in store they can lower the prices etc
