In a decision that will unarguably end HD DVD’s run at an attempted war, Paramount has shown signs that they are poised to drop their HD DVD support. Both Paramount and Dreamworks came out last summer and showed support for the HD DVD camp, however, this support is now wavering greatly with the move of Warner Bros.
Paramount is believed to have a clause in its contract with HD DVD that allows them the opportunity to shut off support of HD DVD if Warner Bros switched their allegiance to Blu-ray. As most may know, Paramount is set up to have a huge blockbuster list of films to release in 2008.
If Paramount follows what is believed to be a support switch, it would inevitably end HD DVD’s life. With Warner giving Blu-ray 70% of Hollywood’s output of work, the implementation of Paramount and Dreamworks library of films would push that percentage through the roof. Right now, it is unclear if Dreamworks has the same clause written as Paramount, but the chances are likely.
CES has brought an unprecedented amount of good news for the Sony faithful on all fronts. PSU will continue to cover this story as more news breaks on what is happening behind closed doors.

oh man, it just gets better and better. HD DVD should just give it up.........
Warner i love you guys, you made the best decision ever to got blu. Also Sony really played their cards right on blu-ray. Im sure Parmount will come over, give them about a week.
One last thing. CES is really pushing blu-ray, Sony is a big help to the success of this format.
hahahahaha! Pwnd!
greate news althought not so greate for those who bought a HD DVD player or that add on crap for the 360.. what a way to screw your loyal costumers, good thing im not one of them ...
hey gadena the lady is abought to sing!!
I feel bad for all the people who said that it was a stupid decision for the PS3 to have Bluray internally in the PS3, and then went out and bought an external HD-DVD drive.
HD-DVD should cut there losses now. Blu-Ray will win, theres no way around it.
haha, sucks for xbox 360 owners with the HD DVD crap add on. Kick them while they are down, that's the way I like it.
"Paramount/DreamWorks responded to Warner's shift to Blu-ray exclusivity today, saying that the studios have no plans to abandon the HD DVD format."

I am a big supporter of Blu Ray but I am going to have to question this one. This is pretty much speculation without any word from a rep while Highdef actually contacted the reps on this one.
fo sho Clover,The only reason blu-ray way won like this is because of the PS3
I bet Paramount and Dreamworks knew that Warner would go with BD....I know I did. Thats just an extra 150 million in there pocket.....for nothing.
It's like the domino effect. Sony takes the cake this time around, but hats off to Toshiba as well. If it wasnt for these two, we would still be stuck with just DVD.
@Lp47PS3: Of course Sony was a big help, IT'S THEIR FORMAT! Haha, can't wait for the day I will be able to watch Transformers on Blu-Ray
WTF, is it me or are all of those hd dvd die hard fans hiding? I havent heard from one in a minute, whats there main forum so I can check out whats going on overthere.
haha im so freakin happy...were almost der guyz...
Well... cool. The more Blu-ray movies the better in my books.. I'm glad I backed the winner. Good ol' PlayStation 3 aye.. and they say only 20% (or something like that) of people know they have a blu-ray player and use it lol! My ar$e.
with warner bros going bd exclusive, I think it's just a matter of time before the others follow, good bless warner bros!!!!
[sarcasm] Good thing Microsoft is releasing a 360 with a built-in HD-DVD drive. [/sarcasm]
its almost over
this is the domino effect.. one a piece starts moving.. the rest should fall into place at a increasingly fast pace.
Wow,i just hope this is true, because if it is then WOOT WOOOT!!!!!!BLU-RAY FOR THE WIN!!!!
TRANSFORMERS on BLU-RAY!...................FINALLY!
psn id: gingo.... *to hd dvd* cheerio cheerio cheerio, cheerio cheerio cheeriooooo, HD DVD has now offically died
Too bad this wasn't true, it would have actually have ended this idiotic war.
