Resident Evil: Afterlife officially in production, get the full scoop

Paul W.S. Anderson’s long rumored horror flick Resident Evil: Afterlife has now officially entered production, reports website ShockTillYouDrop.
According to a statement issued by Screen Gems and Constantin Film, the fourth installment in Anderson’s screen adaptations of the Capcom zombie franchise sees the return of sultry Milla Jovovich as super-charged undead slayer Alice, alongside fellow RE: Extinction cast members Ali Larter (Claire Redfield) and Spencer Locke (K-Mart).
New faces this time around include Wentworth Miller of Prison Break fame who steps in to Chris Redfield’s shoes, as well as Boris Kodjoe and Kim Coates. Shawn Roberts, meanwhile, will inherit the perpetual shades of blonde-haired antagonist, Albert Wesker (formally played by Jason ‘O Mara).
Anderson will direct once again, having penned the script and plans to shoot the film in 3D. “Alice’s battle with The Umbrella Corporation isn’t finished,” he teased. “Last time we saw Alice, she let them know she was coming after them. It’s time to settle the score.”
Resident Evil: Afterlife will arrive in theatres some time in 2010.

I didn't think the Resident Evil movies were too bad. However I do reserve that Resident Evil, and Resident Evil: Apocolypse were the greater of the four (I'm yet to see Degeneration, so I can't really pass judgement).

@2 - Degeneration was made by Capcom thenselves and is actually pretty good. But the action based films are a monstrocity (no pun intended). First one wasn't too bad I must admit, but the remaining two were WTF moments. Jill Valentine was a wuss, Nemesis went too goody too shoes. The acting was crap, the bullet-time was pointless, the plots were unbelievably bad, I'm amazed they're making a fourth.
The only good thing that came out of the films is seeing Milla in the buff.

Miller as CHRIS REDFIELD????
Doesn't fit at all. At least if his acting skills are no more than those shown on Prison Break.
Hopefully that won't be the case...
Anyway, all RE movies sucked...

i hate the movies i hate the director i hate everything about the movies this one will suck hard hopefully the last movie because they are destroying a classic franchise with these stupid and idiotic movies i hope this one fails hard and shoves the director of a clown out the door.

They are OK if not taken too seriously. I loved the first one but the rest were only OK; but I'd rather see them complete the story than leave it as is so I'm glad they are making a 4th movie even if it's barely OK.

they suck the director has made capcom a laughing stock of the gaming world. i asked my friend about if he liked the resident evil movies he said in his own words "OH GOD NO they were terrible films and shoud never ever been made" i agree face it they were terrible no body can dare say they good as the franchise which they are'nt they are utter crap and i am hoping this one fails which is (likely) and there is no way in h#** they will ever be succesful they need to give the f*** up and stop mocking capcom.

I actually liked the movies :) Their not "wow" movies but they are entertaining.
In my mynd, RE1 was the best, RE2 sucked (Due to jill and nemesis) And RE3 was exactly how i would except a post apocolyptical world.,
Im lookin forward to seeing this move :)

@25 my friend you must be blind to even think these movies are good and frankly buddy you need to STFU because this is a free country and any one can post there thoughts here .do a have a contract saying when can say something or not the answer is (no) so don't come insulting anyone when clearly these movies suck and they do i am a fan of resident evil and these movies really dissapointed me even with first half a** attempt .but you probaly getting the lotion out and box of tissues for the few bits and pieces of milla jovovich naked and really enjoying it am i right? so STFU.

I didn't have anything against the first 2 but I didn't like 3 at all, jill the little girl were just gone for no apparent reason, the world was essentially already over so why were they fighting umbrella? For those of you who say the scripts were bad and the ideas were to over the top or stupid, I think it worked fine for the type of story it was trying to tell. I think most people see a movie and if it isn't a 100% scene by scene representation of the game they declare it bad instantly. I never got this because if knew what was going to happen before I sat down to watch a movie why would watch it? I think the source material should be altered to a point to make a different story. Again though to those who say the writing is so bad, I want you to close your eyes sit back and think about the plot of the video games themselves, don't play the games just think about the stories and then think about the movie scripts. I love them but the source material wasn't exactly shakespeare to begin with.

i thought the movies were ok. it was a little dissapointing that they didnt follow the games though. still worth the watch. ive seen worse movies. Max Payne being one. So take it easy on the Resident Evil series.
