The success of the Guitar Hero titles and the recently released Rock Band hasn't gone unnoticed by other publishers. Some would say there's no more space for yet another new franchise in the music game fray, but Konami hopes to refine the genre with Rock Revolution.

Rock Revolution will include lead guitar, base guitar and a revolutionary seven input -- six pads and a bass pedal -- drum setup. The game will not support vocals.
"Rock Revolution will be the most innovative and realistic rock game to hit the market, that will provide a quality drum peripheral and music that players will appreciate," purports Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "As the originator of music-based games, we are dedicated to bringing fans a truly preeminent music experience. With Rock Revolution, we put the emphasis on the drum kit, delivering an experience unlike any other."
With a custom song "jam session" feature, a myriad of online modes and post launch DLC, will Rock Revolution be able to topple the established Guitar Hero and Rock Band? Only time will tell. We'll keep you posted.

What's up with GH4 and RR not supporting singing. The band isn't a band without a vocalist. Also another incompatible drumset to add to the mix. Probably not a buy, just like GH4.

Now all they have to do is make it first person and have the guitar fire bullets. THEN they can truly jump on the bandwagon and capitalize!

When people say, "learn how to play a real instrument," they don't exactly know what they're talking about. They don't understand the point in these games.
But when you get a drum set as extensive as this...Seriously, save the money you'll spend on this game and go learn how to play the drums. Oh, and buy Rock Band.

Guitar Hero 4 is named GUITAR hero for a reason, mor0ns! If it had vocals it would have to be called Guitar and Karyoke Ultimate, or some other meaningless name. And hey, looks like Konami is indeed the son of Microsoft, copying the life of the Fuxbox seemingly to the "day" Ask anyone, and you will get the answer that DDR now sucks, so Konami will , in true Ms fashion, steal the spotlight. This will suck, and I do hope that they slightly infringe on some patents of Harmonix and Red Octane, and are sued for the remnants of their assets.

I would love to play the drums in a game, rather than the actual drums, it will be so much more fun. I would rather play the drums in a game. Easier to learn, and it will just be fun to play the drums realistically in a game. Thats just what i think, some people may think it is more fun to play actual drums, but i would rather play it in a game.

MOST INNOVATIVE? That's absolutely Rock Band's imitation! No vocals? All songs COVER SONGS? What the F***!!
Konami, just beacuse Rock Band and Guitar Hero are massive success doesn;t mean you can do that too. Better make a good game like MGS 4 again
