SCEJ to give away free PSN cards

To kick of the year with a nice touch, SCEJ is going to give away 100 free PSN cards worth 5,000 Yen. The way to enter the contest is easy; just purchase something from the Japanese store and you are automatically entered.

That, however, is also the catch because unless anyone from the North American or European region plans on buying something from the Japan store, this contest is pretty much meaningless.
If this does present an opportunity for you, the contest is currently underway and will run until January 7, 2008. While on the topic of PSN cards, for those who missed, Sony recently announced availability of these items across North American territories, as detailed in our report here.
