SEGA to unveil PS3/360 motion tech games in early 2010

SEGA’s Mike Hayes has revealed that the industry giant is planning to announce games for both Sony and Microsoft’s motion-sensing peripherals some time in early 2010.

Speaking to IndustryGamers, Hayes commented, “We’d like to think that in early 2010 we’ll be making announcements about both of those platforms.”

Hayes added that the projects are still in their infancy stage, with the company still getting to grips with the new technology: “We have our ideas and we know what we want to do, but the technology is pretty new, particularly with Natal, so we’ve got to get to grips with the technology and see if it can do what we want it do,” he explained.

“I kind of think of it as the land of bunsen burners and test tubes.”

Sony's wand device was first announced at E3 earlier this year, with a release date scheduled for spring 2010.

    I'm really afraid devs are rushing out titles to coincide with the launch of the controllers or shortly after which could lead to bad games and in turn decrease popularity and the overall views of the peripherals. So it could basically kill the pontential of it because the first batch of games will kill the potential market

     should we take this to mean there'll be a couple motion wand shovel-ware games from sega before we can toss it in the gimmick pile along with the eye?

    Nice,would be interesting to see if the ps3's wands and the 360's Natal would have multiplatform title,so in that sense users of both consoles can give their impressions and comparisons easily.That way those sitting on the fence would have their decision made a whole lot easier.

    @24 you're damn right

    I really don't like the idea of motion tech on PS3. That's ok for the Wii and their casual gamers and the families that want to play with that. But for real hardcore gamers and games, I think such thing has no use

    I hope they don't focus too much on that, if you want to look like a fool jumping around get a Wii. Let PS3 for us loyal hardcore gamers

    since the two controllers don't have the same way of detecting movement, good luck to them

    Well, sega was the only third party publisher to pay Eyetoy serious attention last gen, so this isn't unexpected.

    hopefully this will mean SEGAs comeback and they'll stop making nintendo exclusives, maybe even release Dreamcast classics on PSN for use on psp once they realise how well they're doing
