According to a letter sent to GameCyte from developer Digi-Guys, their upcoming and often forgotten title WarDevil Chronicles is still progressing as planned, with new information scheduled to appear at some point this year.

"We'll be releasing new material in 2009, but when/how is in the hands of our Publisher - therefore, we must keep to their schedules. WarDevil is progressing to plan - it has a long development process as we're creating an Engine, a Game & Short Movie and each of these elements can take a lot of time on their own."

By the sounds of it, gamers can expect something WarDevil related this year. Whether that ends up being actual gameplay footage (finally?!) is still unknown, but they can't hold out on us all much longer, right?

We’ll be sure to keep you updated.

All I want is some solid information, and a gameplay trailer. They can't keep saying "We'll be releasing info soon."

sounds like a cool game. Jack Black voicing the main character, his primary weapon is an axe and his secondary weapon is an electric guitar. sounds just up my street :p

The problems most people don't realize, is that this game is having a brand new massive engine designed for it that will most likely be licensed to other developers. What most people see, is a "vapourware" game. Though this is far from the case. The reason it's seen as this, is due to the fact they debuted the original trailer very far in advance (most likely to gain more investor support) and right now we still don't have anything REALLY substantial to go off of. The guy who claimed there was nothing to the game, he was entirely wrong. Creating a game engine takes a LOT of time and manpower.

The most likely situation was this: the engine may have taken all these years to create, with less of their focus on the level design, modeling, and whatnot until they were entirely finished the engine. So I am just going out on logical assumption, and assuming that the engine is now finished (or extremely close to it) and they are working on level design and more. My best guess, we will see something significant within the next few months. I'd say they are porbably gonna show something by the end of March at least to see what the by-product of all this work was. I am crossing my fingers that they play this right and don't put it out anywhere near GoW3, and that the game really delivers in all the areas it needs to, especially because it has the potential to be amazing. It's a tough area to find that perfect solid game, whether it fails to deliver in some way or another like Lair, or whether it really delivers like Uncharted. Lets hope it's the latter of the two!
