No post-ending PS3 patch for Fallout 3, says Bethesda

Bethesda has said that it currently has no plans to release a patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Fallout 3 allowing users to explore the game world following completion of the main quest.
Users have voiced their complaint over the fact the game does not currently allow players to explore the environment after the main quest is finished, leaving all manner of side missions unresolved.
Fortunately for PC and Xbox 360 owners this issue will soon be fixed with the arrival of downloadable content, though it appears PlayStation 3 owners will not be receiving the same treatment.
When asked whether or not a post-ending patch will be made available for the PS3 version of popular RPG, Bethesda told MTV Multiplayer, “Not at this time, no.”
We’ll keep you posted on any developments.

Thank God I didn't buy this bugfest of a game. At least now I have an even better reason not to.
DLC is one thing, a "patch" is an entirely different matter. Regardless of m$ paying for DLC, this update really would have come in handy for those wanting to complete it 100%. Why would anybody willingly not support their own game? Makes no sense. -

If anyone wonders why a certian third party titles sell better on the 360, it just might be due to developer attitudes like this. The seem to have chosen thier base and the PS3 fans just got pimped.

Bethesda get your crap straight. I liked Oblivion and Fallout 3. In fact I am a huge fan but this is crap. Just because I own a PS3. Get real. I will never buy another game from you if this issue isn't resolved. In fact I will participate in any ban against you.

Hmm..is it not possible to load a pre ending save? I understand if you only have one save that this would be annoying... but the fewest peolple use on save. I might not know all the facts though since I only have the game on PC.
But since it sold over a million copies on the PS3.. they should accept that they have the obligation to support the platform.

anyone here who isn't getting this game for this reason only is a complete and total moron. Fallout 3 is an amazing game without the patch. Yeah it would be nice to have it but its not a big deal to save before you do the last mission and do the side quests. This game was one of the best experiences i've had on the PS3 to date so you babies need to get over it. You should be used to getting screwed over on our system anyways by now...

This really is outrageous. There's absolutely no point in excluding PS3 owners from this patch, it's not like it would take much to implement and would simply prolong the life of the game. But then again, seeing as they're not releasing any DLC for the PS3 copy it doesn't matter to them, as long as they've sold the game, that's all the money they'll make from it. It makes me sick.

i think its disgusting people have payed for this game (me one of them)and they make most of there profits on the ps3 game sales then screw us over,if anything ps3 should be first priority.if this is what happens when i buy multi plat games i wont bother again.
if they just came out and said we cant cause microsoft payed for it then i would have respect for them.

How can they even justifiably say that the PS3 won't get the patch? This sounds like pure prejudice. or someone was paid handsomely. ugh I'm so jaded w/ this stuff

I paid for this game and I would certainly pay for any expansion/patch that would add new content. Whats the deal?

Guys, Jesus, calm down! Todd said "Not at this time, no", in other words it means not now AKA not never!! So it is coming, just not at this time! It will be a great loss for them that if after the exclusivity deal is finished that they would waste the oportunity to capitalize on the PS3 version!
Yes, it was dirty from M$ to make a deal with them in order for the DLC to reach PS3 owners, since PC user are getting it also. So you have to think, GTA4 is getting DLC only for the 360, completely skipping the PC and PS3 install base. But still, think, it is coming to the PS3 and PC later on, these kinds of deals don't last forever. This industry is changing, releasing DLC liberates from the production costs they would go through to publish the expansion in physical form. So just releasing them on 1 or 2 platforms, when their game is actually on 3 platforms, is just ridiculous. Timed exclisivity won't last forever, in the end it's just a waste of money for M$.

Guys you should always go with the PS3 exclusive like resistence 2 and soon killzone 2 if you want good FPS. Instead of Fallout 3 that sh** is chaos that's why i got rid of mine. And I bet that the same thing is gonna happen with FEAR 2, pc and xbox first as always so stop kiddin yourselfs.

i was gonna buy it. but now I won't. I will maybe buy it used and not give any money to Bethesda as they clearly does not deserve it for giving us PS3 owners such lousy treatment. I don't care about the DLC, but they could at least patched in post-ending gameplay...
this will alienate the PS3 fanbase even further. I'm starting to think it's all a conspiracy ^^ lol
@13
it's not about the game being good or not. so what? there are other games and you won't die if you do not play all of them. so i want to play fallout 3 yes, but not at any cost! the message Bethesda is sending the PS3 users is the reason I don't want to buy the game. It's about principles and how you would like to get treated by developers. I don't want to be treated like crap compared to other customers, so I chose not to be a customer...

Well they are going to make alot of money from the PS3 arent they? NOT!!
They will come crawling back and give PS3 special treatment when devs are really taking advantage of the PS3 and everything looks and works better than it does on the 360!!
Anyways....Bethesda SUCK at making PS3 games...i hope they never make any more!

What I don't get is if a company takes a stand for Multiplatforming all thier games then they should stick with it! I'm getting sick of this crap. First we get screwed with Exclusive DLC on GTA, which to me is a slap in the face considering GTA would never be as popular as it is now if it wasn't for the PLAYSTATION brand, then we get shafted yet again with Exclusive DLC on Fallout. Sony needs to strike back and start fighting MS dirty like they do to us. Go on, Sony. Get some DLC. Resident Evil 5 exclusive DLC only for PS3? I like the sound of that.

Its like I said before. If youre a PS3 owner. You should only buy 3rd party games off of ebay. That way non deserving fanboy developers dont get any of your money. How in the world are you gonna sell exclusive downloadable content on a multiplatform game? To me, that ruins your credibility right there. If you develop a multiplatform title. Then it should be supported equally on all platforms.

I agree with most of you, there has been alot of dlc us PS3 owners cant get from Bethesda and its sucks, if ms is paying them to release it for them sooner I say suck it ms waste your money, I can wait. but if they never release it for PS3 thats not cool and I say go F yourself. If your going to make a PS3 game you better go all the way with it. btw I liked fallout and Oblivion but I want to feel some love cause I'm giving it da mmit!!!!

Honestly, it is a slap in the face to know that there is a patch available yet their not going to give it to us.
I don't know if you normally like giving money to people who spit on you, btu there are many other company's more deserving of the PS3 fans hard earned cash.
People would be better of playing another AMAZING game in which the devs care about the install base on the PS3.
Good luck with the blind consumerism though.
@16
It is about the patch. The patch allows you to go back into the world. Not everyone is interested in paying for a new "side story".

@ 24...what about those other dlc for Oblivion that got to the 360 and pc but not the PS3? i totally loved Oblivion but it would've been alot cooler if i was able to get the other dlc like that "one-hit dagger thingy...(Mehrunes' Blade or something like that)), or the "Theives' Den"...i forgot the other stuff. so unless they say "yes there will be dlc but not right now..." i don't expect them to come out with it for us PS3 users anytime soon.
EDIT: i know this is about FALLOUT 3 not Oblivion, i'm talking about Bethesda the game developers...

everyone should email the crap out of bethsda and call them. im telling you that will get more of a result than just complaining in here. if every one in here that complained emailed them and called them once a day, our chances of getting what we want will increase by 40%

I actually broke down and bought this game for the 360, but after playing it and witnessing the poor non effortless ending they crapped onto it, I can now safely say I will NEVER ever purchase another Bethesda game. I'm sorry but I think Bethseda is a crap company. Not because they aren't going to patch the PS3 (I have fallout 3 on the 360) but because they are horrible at endings and they never make any sense. The options they give you in any of there games don't mean anything. Sorry but bethesda is a crap developer (noobs). I personally don't care how long they have developed games for but by now they should have common sense which they completely lack.
Fallout 3 was fun but the ending was very unsatisfying which in turn made the game crap, not only that but again the options they give you is all an illusion at the end. Being good or Evil is actually bunk in Fallout 3. Horrible effort Bethesda, just horrible. From now on I will definitely stay away from this company in the future. nothing but moronic newberts.
Also, to the people that actually believe Bethesda is going to patch this later on, think again. Bethesda has a track record of buggy games including Oblivion which by the way still needs major bug fixes which wont ever be done. Right there is a very good example of how Bethesda operates. Again, the company is rubbish and effortless, they don't support jack ****. Why on earth would some of you support a company like this?

The first batch of downloadable content for post-apocalyptic RPG Fallout3 has been revealed. Thanks to an exclusivity deal between Microsoft and Bethesda it’s only on Xbox 360 at the moment, but we have it on good authority that it’ll eventually make its way to PS3. The DLC includes Operation Anchorage, a simulation of the war

@Darkstorn
Are you serious? Do you think this is about install base?
Do you seriously think that bethesda thinks that since the 360 is slightly ahead that they all of a sudden don't want money from a possible base of 20 million?
Do you think the Exclusive DLC that gta4 has was all about install base?
Wake up man.

thank god i had the proper sense to get the PC version :p
PS3 exclusivty = Godly stuff.
PS3 Multiplat = always gets rammed in the rear with a Fire Stoker.
But thats why i got all the systems, so i can always get the "best" version XD But now i wish i got GTA4 on 360 cause that new DLC is looking far sweeter than i originally anticipated >_>
