Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is going to be a heavy hitter this holiday season as the series makes its debut onto the PlayStation 3 platform. Most fans are waiting with unease for the PlayStation Network demo early next month; however, gamers can acquire this same demo which features the first level of the game in its entirety before the PSN release.

To obtain this demo, all you will need to do is put down a $5 deposit towards the full game at any Gamestop store.

As of right now, this demo can only be obtained early through Gamestop and there is no word if other retail stores will offer the same deal. The PlayStation Network demo will be available for download on October 4th. Ratchet & Clank Future will hit store shelves on October 23rd.

I might as well be the first to say it....

"Only" succesful exclusive?  So Motorstorm, Warhawk, Virtua Fighter 5 (timed exclusive, ofcourse) were not successful?  Heck, even RFOM has been selling well through the beginning of the year and great through the European launch.  Come on......

I don't think he is talking "GOOD GAMES" per successful but rather ones that have sold several hundreds of thousands of copies and actually made the developer money. I would venture to say that while Warhawk, Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Motorstorm are good games they have not broke even for the companies though. We all know these other third party companies are watching those sales figures very closely and concluding that even games exclusive to the system and been in developement for several years with all their hype surrounding them haven't taken off financially why should we do an exclusive with ours. If it sales better on the 360 at the end of the day that is all that matters to game makers. These good games mentioned simply are being hurt by Sony's low install base. If the install base was the size of the 360 right now we would see sales figures much much higher and alot more companies signing on for exclusives or to not take their games multiplatform....but its not...and why should Capcom or any other company make a game exclusive for the ps3 when it will cost them millions and millions of dollars because their aren't enough PS3'S out there to even break even for them on developement costs? Sony just needs to get more consoles in the hands of people and the game makers will support them...because the game makers are going to go where the gamers are....and right now there aren't enough PS3 gamers yet to make it profitable.

one game....so far one game is pretty much financially profitable at this point. that is a pretty big chance you are asking developers to take when if they simply release it multiplatform then there is almost no chance to fail. hmm let me think about that one. at this point if you are a third party game developer you would almost have to be damn crazy or be very very very certain your game has what it takes to be successful to release an exclusive on the ps3. i can only think of a few games that are third party that are coming out soon that are exclusive and their they fall into that category of certain success. Haze and Unreal Tournament. Haze because everyone with a 360 will be buying Halo so the only chance to sell any at all is to release on another console and URT because well they make awesome games.....but release both titles will eventually go to 360. Point is....you can't exhist in this new gaming world by making exclusives alone, not until the install bases get bigger. i would venture to say even exclusives on the 360 are scary enough for developers and if it wasn't for microsoft paying out big checks they wouldn't do that either. so quit whining about games going multiplatform and just enjoy them because if you had it your way these companies would go out of business before they can release another sequel.
