Ubisoft has revealed that it will no longer be using Las Vegas as the primary location in its Rainbow Six series for future instalments.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Rainbow Six Designer Philippe Therien commented, "We will never go back to Vegas - at least, not in the foreseeable future.”

"We really feel that the story of Vegas is done. We've explored as much of Vegas as we wanted. For now, we're pretty much covered with Vegas."

Additionally, Therien remained uncertain as to whether or not future titles would focus on one setting, adding, "The concept of being around one location was really good for Vegas, it really works.”

"Whether we'll do that again, I don't know right now,” he said.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is scheduled for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms in March 2008.

Good !! Got bored of Vegas quite quickly, I personaly preffer the out doors, give me trees and stuff any day, rather than the same annoying music and walls and doors over and over again, out doors is better, I dont mind the occasional building siege now and then but not a whole(more or less) game of it. Will still be buying next one,coz they are good games, but please give us some thing new and different after that ! ! !

psn id: gingo.... its good for games in a series to keep changing the setting because if they stay somewhere too long it just gets boring and repetitive and less and less people buy the future games

Here's an idea...have a different (real) location for every launch of Rainbow Six that comes out. It'll be different everytime, no one will get bored with it should be exciting.

I kinda figured this, otherwise we'd have a RB6V 3 and then a 4 and so on. Vegas is cool, but not the only cool place for this game.

They could do a Los Angeles setting, but you'd have to watch out more for gangs than tactical enemies.
