1C Company has announced that it will be bringing World War II flight combat title IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey to the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Xbox 360 and DS.

Birds of Prey allows players to participate in a wide variety of battles throughout WWII, spanning events in The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Berlin, Sicily and Korsun.

The PS3 and 360 versions of the game will utilize a number of enhanced visual effects, including real-time damage modelling, where your aircraft will sustain realistic damage, such as holes in the wings and visible trail lines during dogfights.

IC’s International Sales Director, Nikolay Baryshnikov, commented: "1C is using cutting-edge technology, including the amazing power of modern consoles, to bring superior games to every market.”

"Our aim is to bring our games to even more players and expand our vision with cross platform development."

A release date has to be announced, with the company only committing to a vague 2008-2009 launch window.

Stay tuned.
