Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase has revealed that Final Fantasy XIII’s story component is now complete, with the team soon to begin work on the game’s Japanese voice recording sessions.
Speaking with 1up.com, Co-Producer Kitase-san addressed the top of Square’s plans to lesson the gap between the Japanese and western release of the highly anticipated RPG, commenting, “As you mentioned, it definitely helps the localization when you’ve got a finalized story.”
“Our story is now complete, and we’re just about to start the voice casting and recording. Once that’s complete, we can really get into the localization process,” he stated.
Final Fantasy XIII is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 some time in 2009.

wow, why all they hate! people here just seem to want to rag on other just because they choose not to spend their own ( not your money) on a game because it no longer exclusive to the PS3. hey if you don't like the game, or just hate it for being multi- platform, more power to you, at least you're in rare exclusive group who still know the meaning of the word loyalty. it your money, do whatever you want , everyone else, f??k off

To the first post:I'll be honset, I am dissapointed that Final Fantasy 13 will no longer support or use PlayStation 3's hardware to its advantage, but its not going to stop me from buying the game and it's pretty much a given fact that the game[Xbox 360 version]will have at least three disc's so that it remains 40-50Gb and I don't have a problem with that.
Then seeing as Square-Enix have confirmed that Final Fantasy Versus 13 is reamining exclusive[although I can' trust them]and that they'll have another title called One Goal Spirit exclusive to PlayStation 3. I don't really have a problem with it as long as they keep there damn word!

I believe Jack tretton said that they did not have the money to maintain the exclusivity, which i guess is because of their first party development and publishing of such titles such as Infamous, Resistance 2, Killzone 2, DC universe, littlebigplanet, mag and what ever else they are developing.
I would say that was good since they can make new IP and start new Franchises that are without question exclusive.

going to get VS if it will remain exclusive. I’m not touching this one and hope sells will be total failure and everyone will stand up at last and show that they don’t want to get low level merchandise because M$ paid money and bought SE with all their relatives to ki$$ M$ @.$.$ 3 times a day.

Great news, I am very exited. Im sure this game will be very good. I made me a bit sad to see it go multi, for sony's sake. But I think sony deserves to loose this 3rd party exclusive if they wont "grease the wheels" a bit to keep them.

I hope Square make the PS3 version the best it can be, not that "they look the same..." BS. They owe us that much. If they do that I'll happily buy it. To the angry people out there, they went multiplatform because the PS3 install base "wasn't enough to fill their pockets" so if we want to do something about it, proove them wrong and buy it for the PS3 and make the xbox guys hate the game.

It's so aggrivating to read all the comments you people are posting. GROW UP. Stop being so immature. Who really cares if its for 360 now?! It will still be a great game to buy.
I never knew how annoying Sony fan-boys can really get. I might just end up buying it on the 360 now.

Let people have their own opinions on the whole matter...if they are pissed, let them be. People are telling others who are hurt over this ordeal to "grow up" when if they were "grown" and mature themselves they would know and respect the fact that other people have different motives and opinions than they do. Practice what you preach......jeez. I am still getting it, but I too have lost the great excitment I once had for it. I feel more hate towards Tri-Ace than SE at the moment....atleast we are getting FF13....what in the world is going on with Star Ocean 4 for the PS3 and why can't we get in on the Infinite Undiscovery action (even if its a year behind...i'm down lol)? Good thing I can afford to get a bs 360 if the need arrives (...and it seems close)

Practice what I preach? Everything I just stated was true. Did GTA4 going multi-platform stop people from buying it? No. The PS3 is still getting FF Versus.. and it is still an exclusive. Designing a game like Final Fantasy XIII cost's a fortune, and we all know that the PS3 can't compare to the 360 as far as video game sales go. Square has been making games for the Xbox 360 already, and the Xbox has ALOT more video game sales then the PS3. They were smart, made the right move, and made it multi-platform so they can make more money off of it. I'm sounding like such a Microsoft fan-boy right now, but in reality I like the PS3 ALOT more then the Xbox 360, but I just think it's stupid how people are deciding they don't want to buy it because it's going multi-platform. All Sony fan boys need to re-consider their decision on that because if they decide not to end up buying what is going to be an amazing game, Square Enix might not even develop for the PS3 anymore due to poor sales.

I'm still getting this game. I've always loved FF and Idc if they sold themselves out to xbox. Don't let that stop you from buying the game too. That will only make more sales go to the xbox and than square will end up jumping consoles for good. All developers don't care about who they are working for. They just care about who gives them the most money. In life its all about the money and thats the truth.
