Killzone 2 SuperBowl advert rocks

SuperBowl ads, despite their often comedic nature, are serious stuff. A single second of airtime on the most watched television event of the year costs upwards of $100,000. If you're a videogame company with deep pockets, you want those millions of dollars to mean something.

In our humble opinion, Sony marketing could not have crafted a more appropriate, more epic advertisement than the Killzone 2 ad that is set to air this Sunday. It's relevant, it's witty, and it's god damn gorgeous. For a $5,000,000 TV spot, we'd expect nothing less. We've embedded it below, courtesy of GameSpy.

I really didn't like the ad either.  Football and Killzone have nothing to do with each other.  The "4th Down" thing was really stupid but I liked the "Sudden Death" part.

Finally sony is actually advertising a game and actually good advertising scheme they came up with.

Now they just need to put commercials all throughout the release of Killzone 2 on every channel all hours of the day, til everybody is just sick of seeing the damn thing and has to look it up

It's a fake ad, Sony spent nothing on this. This is a fan made trailer. This won't be shown at all during the Superbowl. Sony paid for 2 spots in the first quarter, and their both movies. Put 2 and 2 together. 2 spots + 2 movies = No Killzone 2 ad.

damn i never knew sony would put that type of money just to promote a single game. well i guess we all did complain about not enough ps3 ads a little 2 much. but i still think they shouldve put that monkey toward tieing down 3rd party exclusives

Wow, that's a great move for Sony to do!  I like the ad as well.  It's not totally focused on the intense battles, but not just scenery.  The hook into the football game is smart as well.  Hopefully the commercial will get good response as the Cards go and make history! :)
