Harmonix sues Konami over Rock Revolution

  • Posted February 13th, 2009 at 10:54 EDT by

Harmonix, developer of the hit party game Rock Band, is officially suing Konami over their music rhythm title Rock Revolution. According to the papers on file, Harmonix feels that Konami has infringed against two of their patents involving simulated instruments. Harmonix is looking to block sales of Konami's title while also seeking cash compensation for the entire ordeal.

If this situation sounds somewhat familiar, that's because Konami pulled the same tactic against Harmonix last year for the exact same issue. While that case is still pending, it is speculated that Harmonix filed this current suit to combat the old one.

Whatever happened to the sweet sounds of love and Rock'n'Roll?
