Guerrilla Games on Killzone 2 controls: "No changes required"

Guerrilla Games’ Seb Downie has defended the company’s decision not to revamp Killzone 2’s controls, describing the sequel as “a weighty, slower, more tactical first person experience.”
Speaking in response to complaints posted on CVG’s forums, Downie commented, “After carefully looking into this, reading the posts, talking to a lot of you directly and analysing the controls at GG we have come to the conclusion that there are no changes required to the system.”
"If at all, any changes to the controls would put the majority of people who have not had problems or have adapted out of whack, which may be more serious," he continued, adding, “Killzone 2 is a weighty, slower, more tactical first person experience that focuses on immersion.”
Despite this, Downie noted that a few tweaks were made to the game’s online component: "It is not a twitchy, split-second gun-wielding experience like some shooters. Also, the online experience is quicker as we've made the controls and animations a little faster during design."

HHmmm not so sure, i STILL find it difficult to lock onto enemies after several hours playing, especially when the action is FAST like it is most of the time (someone please tell me where the slower tactical bit is)
I must admit that i have spent ages playing both COD MW and WaW so you could argue that im honed in on COD controls but it doesnt normally take me this long to adapt.
I just seem to find the movement a bit wayward and the way the AI move around all the time you really need something a little more precise. I have tried adjusting it but to no avail
Maybe i just need even MORE practice

It's suppose to be that way and it adds a bit of realism to it to be honest.

well i always liked the controls. The only thing they need to add to make this game perfect in my eyes is split screen and party system, because i wanna play with my friends on the same team.

the only complain ive got izz that when u zoom in while covering... when the character gets the chance to reload... you have to press the zoom in button again! and the sniper rifle to adjust form 2x to 5x and viceversa while covering izz another pain! other than that the game is perfect :D

I think the controls are spot on and instead of GG trying to make their game play like CoD I think it's not too much to ask to have gamers adapt to their control scheme.
My biggest complaint is that there's no co-op. You're with someone for about 80% of the game and with elements like getting/giving boosts to reach higher ground and the defibrillator gizmo that helps you revive your fallen comrades, it seems really strange that they wouldn't work in co-op. I'm still hopeful that they'll add it later as DLC. They'll just have to rework the New Sun ship segment and the part when Garza leaves you for a minute.
Still, there's no denying that this is the slickest and sickest game on the PS3 right now and will have just as much staying power as CoD4.

Well, my issue is that regardless of how I play, I have major issues locking on. Couple that with the lack of ammo, and it causes a lot of frustration. Also, the shotgun has too much range. I lost a firefight from roughly 25-30 ft (I know, videogame measurements huh).
