When Resident Evil 5's Mercenaries mode was unveiled last week, it appeared that it would be a solely offline experience. Luckily, that has changed.
IGN reports that an update is already available on the Xbox 360 that will allow players to partake in online cooperative 'Mercenaries' play. The outlet expects that a similar update will be available on the PS3 prior to the launch of the game in North America.
Mercenaries is a timed mode where players must survive while decimating hordes of angry, infected villagers. The better you do, the higher your score. It's a hectic, fast-paced addition to a game already packed to the brim with content.

@ Babiloo
Mercenaries was in RE4. And no it shouldn't be like horde mode. Instead of defending a spot you move around alot and you have to pick up ammo and herbs. Horde and Mercenaries are pretty different.

three3-times is alright, leave him alone.
And hmm this may persuafde me to keep my preorder in...i was going to cancel it tonight, but i quite enjoyed this part of RE4 even if i did suck at it. Co-op should make it good, in contrast to the main story which co-op should make rubbish.
