LittleBigPlanet: 650,000 levels and counting

Those who dubbed LittleBigPlanet a flop after its first sales numbers rolled in should hang their heads in shame. The latest LittleBigPlanet data is in, and it's utterly astounding.

Over 650,000 levels have been created by 1,935,000 online LittleBigPlanet players, with an average of 35,373 levels uploaded each week. That's 5,053 levels added a day, or 211 added an hour, or one level published every 17 seconds. Can you make a LittleBigPlanet level in 17 seconds? Yeah, we didn't think so.

What's truly amazing is that there's nowhere to go but up; LittleBigPlanet's bustling online community will only continue to expand. It appears this short little SackBoy has some very long legs.

Thats insane.  I'm willing to bet a good portion of them are trash but that's still an incredible amount of gameplay right there.

Most of those levels are garbage though but LBP is totally awesome and probably the best game of 2008 after MGS4

Nice to see, but how are you ever suppose to get the online trophy with this many levels? I created a few levels when the game was released and they have NEVER been played by anyone.

Quality is more important than quantity and 650,000 levels is not something to brag about.

Quality is the most important aspect, but even if only 5% were good quality than 32000 levels are great. It's fairly easy to weed through the real crap levels.
