PS3 Firmware 2.70 to launch in April, says dev

An anonymous developer source has been whispering in Eurogamer’s ear this morning claiming that Sony is planning to release its forthcoming PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.70 update next month.
VG247 was told last night that a number of developers are now in possession of the update, which would apparently go live at some point “this week.” However, it now appears we won’t be seeing it until some time in April.
In related news, Resistance 2’s James Stevenson revealed that the game’s upcoming patch will not function without the latest PS3 Firmware update. According to an earlier report, the patch was originally planned to go live on March 26.
“Resistance 2 is the first game to fully log-in two PSN accounts. LBP only logs you in locally, and does not register both accounts as online through PSN,” he said. “This is a big difference, and what is required for split-screen online co-op with other folks.
“And it was dependent on a Sony update, hence why it wasn’t in when the game shipped.”
We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.

There is some rumor that has actually started to pick up steam such as this mysterious bomb Sony is set to drop during the conference. Its difficult to say if there is any merit to the rumor, but apparently Sony is set to announce a game that will move PS3s. Some have speculated that it could be Grand Theft Auto V or Metal Gear Solid V.

IT'S ABOUT $%^&*#$ TIME!
I'm suprised I havn't heard people complaining about this problem very much. Can't wait for this. Any chance we'll be able to change profiles in-game now too? I know you wouldn't be able to in the middle of a game but at least being able to do it on the menu or in-between games without having to completely exit the game would be nice.

Split screen what is this 1990... Where the @#$% are the basics needed on PSN Custom soundtracks in every game, Cross invite/chat/party chat in every games, being able to join a friend's game from the dashboard in every game... Come on Sony I paid $600 for this system an give me something I WILL use... I Love this system but come on.... Free online or not I spent $600 dollars I want these features

I think they should make an update where you can have a feature that lets you change the font color and a black background color because the "original" one is not all black it changes in between colors (at least for me) and a theme that you can modify how ever you want.
