It's been quite the hurricane of sales as of late for Sony and its PlayStation 3 in Japan, with the console having outsold the Wii in the territory over the last three weeks.
Fortunately it appears as though this momentum shows no sign of slowing down, with the latest hardware figures from Famitsu confirming that Sony's black behemoth has managed to trump Nintendo’s machine again in weekly sales. That’s right – PS3 has now managed outsell the Wii in Japan for a whole month.
While some may attribute this to the fact that the Wii has almost definitely reached saturation point in Japan, it’s still a significant feat for PS3 considering the sales history of both platforms.
We've included the hardware sales below.
Xbox 360 - 5,100
DSi - 72,000
DSL - 7,800
PSP - 61,000
Wii - 20,000
PS3 - 24,000
PS2 - 5,400
