Fallout series branching into TV and film?

A recent trademark filing by Bethesda has indicated that the publisher may be looking to expand its post-apocalyptic series Fallout into TV and Film.

The filing, made back in February this year, pertains to "Entertainment services in the nature of an on-going television program” in addition to "motion picture films about a post-nuclear apocalyptic world."

While this is a strong indication that Fallout won’t just be confined to the videogame market in the near future, we’re still short of an official confirmation on the matter. Keep those fingers crossed until we find out more.

Stay tuned.

this sounds good i mean they would make so much money off this plus more.  but most movies based on games arent really all that good just look at max payne.  even tho max payne doesnt rival fallout but still.  and idk bout a tv show that just sounds stupid.  i played the game and im kinda interested into how they are goin to pull this off i mean it can be done the game had a good story to it.  boy loses dad go out to find him then dad dies.  i bet even ppl that have never played this game would like it i just hope they make it good for the fans. peace.

They had better not make it 100 hours long :D

(Seabiscuit was long enough as it was, I couldn't bear that... Unless Liam was cast as the Dad again)

They will have to do something different, as the original story-line wouldn't fit well, besides you leaving the Vault to find your Dad. I predict something more like The Road (but that movie is also supposed to be coming out this year).

have we not learned anything from the many video game to movie adaptions yet?  all terrible, this one will be terrible, and and future video game movies will be terrible, its like turkey trying to be ground beef, it just sucks.

This would have to be a Showtime or HBO tv show. It would have to have extreme violence, nudity, vulgar language and drug use. It would also have to have good unknown actors.

But no that wont happen this will suck.

I love the Fallout games. I just worry that it'll be screwed up by being a movie a la Resident Evil.

Wow, that would be cool. @ 5 thats funny especially the fact that Fallout is extremely prone to bugs mostly for the Ps3 version though since we always get looked over.

Im willing to watch the film, but not the TV show. If it's anything like the video games, the FCC will (probabley) step in and stop it. Or at least make the show crap.

this could be awesome, as long as they do it right, no low budget BS with shoddy acting and effects

really? i mean it could be sort of interesting, but fallout did not design a really great postapocalyptic world, so thy'd be better just making a new one for a tv show

I think this sounds really cool.  Love the idea, concept and game; except the Xpoox getting all the DLC.
