All of you fantasy buffs have something to look forward to -- a new game based on American author George R. R. Martin's bestselling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' fantasy series.

Cyanide, an independent French video game studio, announced today a partnership to create the first-ever video game based on the award winning fantasy series for consoles and PC.

The studio says the many twists and turns of the plot will create an enjoyable experience for long-time fans as well as gamers new to the series.

The 'A Song of Ice and Fire' novels have been translated into more than 20 languages and have been nominated for numerous awards. The novel series has already been adapted into a card game and a board game. Also, HBO acquired the rights to turn the novels into a television series.

I would've preferred a developer like Bioware would've made this, but I'll give Cyanide Studios a chance to prove if they are up to the task or not.

YES!!!!  This is the best fantasy series going right now.  Even better than the Wheel of Time (RIP Robert Jordan), and almost on par with the legendary Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends.   For fantasy lovers who haven't read them, get them now!  Great news about the HBO series too.

Is it almighty enough to challenge the Emerald Sword saga (which should have a game ! !) nothing can be more epic than the quest of the Emerald Sword
