Cross Edge, described by Nao Zook from publisher NIS America as a “dream-come-true RPG for hardcore gamers,” officially released today on the PlayStation 3 in North America. Zook also announced the game’s Trophies on the PlayStation Blog.
The game is the result of a five-company collaboration. Players will see familiar faces from Darkstalkers (Capcom); Disgaea (Nippon Ichi Software); Ar tonelico (Bandai Namco); Atelier Marie and Mana Khemia 2 (Gust); and Spectral Souls (Idea Factory). All of the characters are playable and you can collect costumes for all the characters.
The unique battle system is a hybrid of classic RPG elements with an intuitive grid-based SRPG style. Players move upon a square grid during combat, and some characters are better at close range while others are superior at ranged combat.
For all you Trophy collectors looking to add a little gold to your virtual showcase, Cross Edge features 23 trophies; five are bronze, 11 are silver, seven are gold, and one, of course, is platinum.
Here is the list of Trophies, along with the descriptions.
Bronze – The Entitled: Unlock any trophy.

Released? just like that? is this a PSN game or regular game? I thought it was a regular game but the way they released it makes it seem as if it were a PSN game. I like that it has classic RPG elements, I'll do my best to buy this soon.

Dont say anything, if he doesnt want it that means more for everyone else in regards to a game that will probably be pretty rare.
The game's been in the localization phase for like 3 months now, chances are it mean the english voices will suck but the script could be pretty good.
Graphically lets not forget that NIS is not a huge company and the best you can as for is a mix of 2D and 3D which is what they gave us, that's not bad. As they make more money they can invest in more impressive graphics, thus the improvment already shown comming from Disgaea 3 to this.

The game having trophies is really making me want it more than I already did. Though, to be honest, I am still too addicted to Disgaea 3 to mess around with another game. I might get it in a week or so.
edit: Oh and Sufi, you might be thinking about Trinity Universe which is a game made by NIS, GUST, and Idea Factory together.

A trophy called "hikikimori"
Is that what the trophy is called in Japan, too, because that's kind of insulting.

Mine is already in the mail, can't wait!
And no, it did not just get announced. It was released in japan around the middle of last year. It was announced as coming to the US last fall, originally given a release date in march, then pushed back to may. So it's been coming for a while now.
I've been looking forward to this for a long time!
