SOCOM: Confrontation patches 1.50 and 1.60 detailed

The SOCOM blog has just updated with news on Confrontation's next two patches. 1.50's features are complete and gamers have been expecting it for a little while, but it has been delayed to ensure that it is as “problem-free as possible when it is released…rather than pushing it out as is on a specific date.”
Also important to note is that some features can’t fully be tested, such as the tournaments, which can have thousands of players in them. During the first few weeks, however, Slant Six will “ramp the size and number of tournaments during the first weeks after release to monitor and address any issues which arise.”
There’s also news on 1.60, which will fix any issues that the growth of tournaments and clan ladders may bring.
Slant Six also has this to say about DLC coming with 1.60:
--New Special Forces: The Dutch KCT and the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces. Each Force includes new heads and voice + a light, medium and heavy variant of their own torso and legs (each with a unique camouflage pattern).
--Two new primary weapons will be immediately accessible to players who select to play as the new Special Forces; the 417 assault rifle for the Dutch KCT and the SPAS 15 shotgun for the Italian COMSUBIN Special Forces.
--Four new weapons will be available to all players regardless of assigned Special Force. These are the 9mm Sub Machine Gun, M82A1A, Ak-74 and SR-25. The 1.60 will also include a number of weapon updates and adjustments to existing weapons.
--In addition to the free DLC included with the 1.60 update we are also working to add 100% Random Medleys in the 1.60 update. We know this is a highly requested feature and we really want to get it out to you.
More DLC coming! - We can also confirm that we have been working on a major content release/pack. Look for an announcement later in the month.

One of most terrible games for the Ps3. How many patches they have released? For the demo they released 2 or 3 patches and it was only the demo.

I gave SOCOM the college try. I had it since day 1, and got my loins up for every patch. Do you realize how much space this game has taken on my HDD?! You guys use this next word waaaay too much, but times like this and games like this, it's completely appropriate:
Fail.
Fail...fail...fail.

Doesn't say anything about fixing the stability though. I swear, if all we get is a feature patch I'm gonna be pissed off.

This game was a major let down for me. I pre-oredered this thinking the game was getting back to the good ole days of socom 2. But in the end it was just plain horrible. The game play was ok nothing spectacular. The graphics looked top of the line ps2. And to top it off, the game wasn't even complete when it was released. The worst exsclusive thus far. /6 ruined a great franchise even more than socom 3 did.

@ chemist8897 Come on now, let's try and keep it real... Socom: Confrontation's graphics look much better than top of the line PS2 graphics. I honestly don't know what most of the whiners are talking about when they hate on Socom now. Back when it was released, ok, but it seems like most of the problems have been patched. I've gotten tired of Call of Duty 4 and Killzone 2, but I still play Socom. When you take the size and complexity of the levels into account, along with the number of players, the graphics are better than good. The use of sound with the mics is second to none. It sure seems like good old Socom with a fresh coat of paint to me. Oh well, whine on you crazy whiners.

Just remember Zipper is not the one who made this game it was SlantSix and they were the ones who created the PSP version of socom. It was their first console game and it was on the hardest console to develope for.
I have played this game a total of three times maybe. I wanted it to be great, it however was not. Patches are always a good thing when it's improving an already great game, but when it's fixing a broken game then it's a waste of my time.
Major reason I can't stand playing this game is how long it takes to get into a game, loading times, end of round screen, and then when the whole game is finished it shows the scores and takes you back to green up screen. In this room you have to wait for everyone to be ready and its a huge waist of time. You can change your layout in game so why would they make you go to the green up section. It should be round after round of fights, game after game. No stopping needed.
