Konami's upcoming downloadable tactical role-playing game Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment was originally slated for release in September, but according to new details announced today, the game will come out sometime in the winter.

The game is a prequel to the original Vandal Hearts game, released for the PlayStation in 1996. The new game, said to improve upon the original, will be downloadable via the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade.

Konami released some new screenshots of the game, along with more details about the game. You'll get 20 playable characters, multiple endings, and an interesting system for character progression. Essentially, your characters progress depending on the skills you use most often.

Look for this game to hit the PSN sometime this winter. More screenshots are available here.

The game plays like an SRPG like FFT, but I thought it was A LOT better than that.

Its nice to see a game that isn't following the hyper realistic trend that graphics have been on for the last few years.

Edit:- Not that it probably matters but still giving benifit of the doubt to the devlopers here
