SOCOM 4 and Syphon Filter 5 in production...maybe

CVG found out that PCB productions, a digital content creation company, has listed SOCOM 4 and Syphon Filter 5 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2, respectively.
No word yet from Sony, but CVG did receive confirmation that Red Steel isn’t really coming to the 360, which is listed on the site. And PSU also notices that at the top of the list is “Call of Duty Six: Modern Warfare 2,” a title that may have been true at one point, but isn’t now, as it is just Modern Warfare 2. So the list is dated and these may be inaccuracies.
Still, PCB’s credits list is impressive, having done work on Prototype, BioShock, and many Tom Clancy games. We don’t know for sure what Syphon Filter 5 or SOCOM 4 means yet, but the evidence is nothing to sneeze at. We expect there will be more on this soon.

Why did slant six decide to model their menu system on something so ugly and broken as the PSP socom menu system. S***T the ancient greeks had friendlier menu systems. . .

Yeah, the Godfather of PS2 online games sucks. You have no idea what you're saying, i suggest you keep your mouth shut. SOCOM Confrontation isn't a bright spot in the franchise, but don't judge the series because of bad game.

Get a grip people, Socom Confrontation is a beast of a game! Sure its had many problems and the menus are still pants but the gameplay is great. If this franchise was put into the right hands it could be one of the best games ever!

If Socom4 was in the making & was based on old Socom's ( with the FPS mode), then it would be a must buy for me. I sorely miss Socom gameplay and nothing to date in FPS mode has come close to competing with it.
But due to all the disappointments I have had in the games this gen, I won't get my hope up. I'll wait & watch.

/6 doesnt make socom games, confrontations was ment to hold fans over until socom 4 was made, /6 destroyed the game but will not be making socom 4.. so even though socom 4 plans to intergrate maps/ranks of confrontations there is still a chance that socom can regain its previous glory. If they do, it would be far better then mw/mw2 without a doubt

Don't forget that SOCOM Confrontation was not made by same team as the PS2 games. That said, you either dig the style, or you do not. Then again, SOCOM 4 may be quite a bit better. Or at least deeper...

Why kill splinter cell? the more the maryer or how you spel it. I wold like a COCOM with a singelplayer story that you kan Coop in. Keep the 3rd person weuv i like that insted of FPS, Get mor of av "real" feal to it. But rework som of the animations, tha sem like tos when thy run as thy ar now

Looks like Sony Computer Entertainment may have contacted PCB Productions to ask them to remove SOCOM 4 and Syphon Filter 5 from their credits list. These are definitely likely in pre-production or currently in development since it was stated so on their credits list. Maybe next E3 unvieling?

I love Socom. I play it everyday even though Socom:Confrontaion isn't the best one in the franchise (and no where near it) it's still a pretty good game overall. If Zipper are the guys behind Socom 4, then I know they'll do something to revive the series for sure. Can't wait
