New GTA has been in works for over a year, says Pachter

Wedbush Morgan's Michael Pachter has claimed that Take-Two management let slip to him that development on a fresh installment in the venerable Grand Theft Auto series has been underway for the past twelve months.
According to the analyst, the new game will apparently take advantage of the same ‘engines’ as the most recent entry (presumably referring to Grand Theft Auto IV), and believes it will shift in the region of 15 – 18 million copies.
Furthermore, while hazy on an exact release window, he stated that the title will arrive on the scene before the end of fiscal 2011, but may not be released before October 31, 2010 – this ties in neatly with Take-Two’s recent revelation that a new GTA game will not see the light of day in fiscal 2010.
Speaking in a research note issued today, Pachter commented, "When we do the simple math, we conclude that the next instalment is likely to be completed by some time in 2010, although given the frequency of game delays, it is not clear that it will necessarily come before October 31, 2010.”
"However, it is clear to us that the next version of GTA will arrive before the end of FY:11."

I honestly don't see myself at this point getting this game. GTAIV was not what I was looking for in a GTA game and though it was alright I did not enjoy it nearly as much as I did GTA:SA or GTA:VC. I will hold off judgement until I see what the game is actually going to be like but if they don't have actual garages and properties that you can purchase at the very least I won't be getting it. Oh and I would like to see airplanes come back thanks bye.

Here's what Rockstar needs to do in order to improve for the next (So-Called) GTA
.Better Graphics (Draw distances were horrible)Just get a sniper and zoom into Algonquin from Broker and you'll see what I mean. The shadows were terrible, all blury and jaggy. Yes, I nitpick on graphics. We're either gonna have a quality game or not.
.Have the diversity and just flat-out fun we all had in San Andreas (Airplanes, sky-diving, having Jets/Tanks come after you, swimming underwater, more action filled missions) I can go on forever but you get the point.
What do you think they can improve on?

I'm definitely waiting after this other GTA comes out. If it isn't filled with a bunch of stuff in the city to do, I wont bother purchasing it. I already payed $60.00 for a butchered GTA which was called GTAIV, I am not happy with the series and how it lost everything it use to have.

D@mn it! If it was rockstar, I'd say "Ok, maybe we can get over this GTAIV 360 exclusive DLC" crap, but it's fsking patcher... I wish he'd just shut up...

GTA4 was my favorite since GTA3 so I'll be getting this even though I'm sure they'll make it ridiculous like Vice City to appease all the whiners. I hated VC and it's the only one I didn't finish. I thought San Andreas was good but not as good as GTA3. I liked the rural areas in SA but the cities were too small and the story, like VC, was stupid. More stuff to do is fine but at least have it make some damn sense. Oh well, the whiners are the majority so I'd better prepare myself.

wtf GTA 4 was the greatest game i played you people, played the whole story 5 times and still want to play it. saint row was sht to gta4 with everything. it was like a 2nd generation game on a 3rd generation game. all it had was more added staff because of the ps3 and 360. i reken if GTA5 was meade the same way as GTA4 but with little bit san andreas style, this would look owsem. like adding turf war to GTA5 gameplay

The only reason im ever going to read another pachter article is just to see what mean things people say theyre going to do to him. It would be better if PSU just stop posting any articles he says.
