Sony Europe boss Andrew House confirmed during the platform holder’s GamesCom press event today that the firm will be rolling out PlayStation Network cards in PAL territories at some point this year.
According to House, the cards will be available in both €20 and €50 denominations. A firm release date has yet to be announced, though hopefully we’ll be able to confirm something more concrete in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of our GamesCom coverage elsewhere on the site.

Hmmm does this mean mean the UK will get these?, I know we are apart of Europe but we have a differant currency. Anyway It's a start I guess, so we will probably get them soon enough :)

I think a lot of people are like me and have bought some games with a card but would rather take a $20 bill (or 20 euros for the Europeans) to get a card instead of using a credit/debit card and waiting for it to show up on the bill.
Glad the Europeans here finally get to have the cards. So much more convenient.

it is for the European region yes? so i would guess we will be getting them in the uk too.
The fact that it is priced in Euro's means nothing as Euros are accepted in a lot of places in the UK already and Game / Gamestation / Blockbusters etc. can buy them for Euro's but sell them for pounds so not an issue apert from the fact that they will probably cost 20 pound for a 20 Euro card.......
>still glad we are getting them though :)
