It’s official: Quantic Dream’s test for the gaming community was a success. Announced today on the PlayStation Blog, Heavy Rain has hit the one million mark in sales worldwide, likely offering a sigh of relief and gratitude for the game’s creators, as many people worried it would not sell well.
If you have played the game, you probably share in our sentiment that Heavy Rain is a standout of this generation, and quite unique. This was a game that was extremely story driven, to say the least, and didn’t feature machine guns, aliens, zombies, or even an easy-to-find save point. Instead, the game relied heavily on its story, graphics, characters, and presentation.
Heavy Rain is definitely a game you should check out, if you haven’t done so already. With one million sales worldwide, we take it many of you have already experienced Heavy Rain.

It's a fantastic game, it truly deserves those sales. Too bad it's filled with numerous plot holes.

Heavy Rain was a really short game. I beat it the weekend I bought it. But it was worth it. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

There are practically no plot holes in Heavy Rain, other than the ones manufactured by people who do not PAY ATTENTION!

Lol, true. Sometimes we miss things on our first playthrough. In, Heavy Rain's case, a lot of us missed a lot of points.
Congrats, Quantic Dreams!. I'm glad they sold over one million units!. Hopefully they'll continue the trend of making more IP's.

Not really a game, but whatever it is, I really enjoyed it and it annoys me that I only rented it. Still hard times have though calls.

Please, kindly explain to me just one little quip: MINOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T PLAYED:
Early on in the game when you play as Ethan in his new home you eventually tuck in his son Jason, yet after he closes his door he experiences a blackout. the next scene we see is Ethan in the middle of the street holding an Origami figure in his hand on Carnaby square.
Now, Why is Ethan having Blackouts in the first place? Why was he holding an Origami figure if he wasn't the OK, let alone it being a dog (you should know the significance), why was he on Carnaby square? Holes are all over the place, forthe sake of being a thriler. Don't blame me for something you think I missed when the developers clearly didn't think things through.

@10 thats pretty much the only real plot hole as far as I'm concerned, but I believe it was intentional since we are supposed to be seeing some DLC...my guess is someone (won't spoil anything you didn't but if you played you know who I'm talking about) was responsible for those blackouts and leaving origami in his hand to cover his- or herself in setting him up. Or perhaps there are other layers we don't even know of yet, but I'm betting on Quantic revisiting those scenes in future DLC.
On topic, I'm very glad this game sold well because that will leave the door open for other studios to experiment more openly which is something the console gaming community really needs imo.

@3 They've said that Heavy Rain 2 won't happen.
I think that's good, because there were several endings, and a new IP is always cool.
Heavy Rain was awesome.

Great game. Really loved it. Evolution of console gaming in full evidence.
Very unique and I hope there's a follow up :)
Can't believe some people on my friends list just ignored this and carried on with MW2 stress........... losers.

Blackout = stress?
Son = fears for his son due to the killer?
Maybe he's sees into the future (although not accurately?)
This IMO isn't a a hole in the plot......its a way of providing a general scene where the player/reader uses his/her own reason to make it fit. This is something you see in many films and books. Of course, if you haven't the imagination or belief in the story in the 1st place, then it would be hard for you to justify scenarios within the story.
Its always possible....try not to be so critical & see if you cannot make it fit. An overly perfectly rounded story that explains everything looks like plastic & unreal. This is probably one of those little areas thats designed to add a little mystery to the story, where you must reason yourself instead of having it all explained to you.....much as you will find in everyday life.

Cmon guys like the other guy said PAY ATTENTION ! The blackouts were explained , he gets them because of his CAR ACCIDENT AND SIX MONTH COMA... obviously his brain was severely damaged. The figure was probably placed in his hand during his blackout by the origami killer because the OK would know Ethan would start to think he himself was the killer , which he does by the end of the game !
