Square Enix has confirmed that both Final Fantasy Versus XIII and Agito XIII will make a brief appearance at the Tokyo Game Show next month.

That’s according to Tweets from series character designer Tetsuya Nomura, who revealed that the games will form part of a short, combined showcase apparently cobbled together at the last minute.

The Japanese giant said earlier this week that it couldn’t commit to a 2011 release for the PS3-exclusive Versus XIII, with the game itself having not shown up since Jump Fiesta back in December last year.

Square will be displaying a number of its hottest games at TGS, including The 3rd Birthday and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded.

well, well, well... so after a few YEARS we'll finally get to hear something about the game, I'm already bracing myself for the "multiplatform" news

     I have agree with Javonne....

This is probably a short showing because they will announce multiplat for the title. Which will give them extended development time, which will end up being the reason they say they aren't able to give a solid time table for a possible release date.

@5, and that will again mean that we will lose additional content for the PS3 because the game will have to be downgraded for the xbox :S. I do hope they DON'T tell us it'll be multiplatform...

I wouldn't be surprised if, like Javonne and darkprince said, this winds up going multiplat. It is highly suspect that the development has been pushed back and is taking an extremely long amount of time. This is very reminiscent of what happened with FFXIII. Let's just hope that if they do decide to go multiplat they don't sacrifice the NPCs, towns, and world map again just to fit on three DVD9s

FF13 sold more than 300,000 more units on the PS3 in the 360 hungry USA alone, nevermind the pro PS3 europe and japan. I think Square sees from this that the PS3 is where the real fanbase is, and I doubt this will be going multiplat. They wan it to be spectacular and unbelievable graphics, and on consoles, only PS3 can really deliver this.

Ok listen, if theyre going to show any more it better not be anymore of those typical "no gameplay but small segment main character being typical Billy Bad Azz to an upbeat backdrop slaying some group of foe and as the action slows the scenes switch off to him being Cassanova and laying down his game on some princess as the music dies down and opts for a more rhthymic and sullen piano composition before panning out as he walks away with her at hand or something." In other words unless it introduces some characters with some dialogue or at least evens show a quick montage flash of some gameplay (wishful thinking?), I wont be needing a towel to dab between my legs or anything of the sort for a trailer on this game. Let's see what happens, eh?

Who cares, i am seriously getting tired of Squeenix and there stuck up attitude with there nose up in the air like their poo don\\\'t stink. They treat there loyal fans like lap dogs, they know the fans eagerly await to view what they have to show yet till today they still do the closed mega theater crap or do the teaser crap etc... then they spend all this development cost on a game that was really lame imho er hem (FF13). Anyhow i don\\\'t know about you folks, but my respect for Squeenix and my eagerness to hear from them over the years has truly diminished. New king o JRPG without the high cost of development is Namco Bandai but hey even them are starting to go down that path with the Tales series more often then none limited to Japan releases.

I can't stand JRPG combat system, except for Shenmue's.

    Shenmue isn't a JRPG.
