Ninja Theory says DMC reboot was a "no brainer"

Speaking during an interview with Develop, Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory has labelled the chance to reboot stylish action series Devil May Cry as a “no brainer.”
The company lifted the lid on a fresh instalment in Capcom’s long running series at the Tokyo Game Show last month, featuring a controversial new look for demon slaying protagonist Dante.
“I think with Devil May Cry, [the deal] was a great opportunity. It is a beloved franchise and for us it was a very good fit – it’s all about the things we love; high energy fighting and cool cinematics,” commented Ninja Theory’s Nina Kristensen.
“It was also a project that wasn’t an original IP, which we’ve never tackled before. This deal was of course a no-brainer for us.”
Touching on Dante’s new look, Kristensen noted that Capcom Japan called for Ninja Theory to “go crazy” with its design for the wise-cracking hero, adding that the Cambridge-based studio was approached with the idea of a reboot as Capcom believed it would “add something to the franchise that hadn’t been seen before.”
DmC: Devil May Cry is in the works for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. A release date has yet to be announced.

Heavenly Sword is overrated. That Enslaved demo is really awful. So I don't have high hopes for this one at all.

@AlexXIII actually according to Nomura Noctis isn't as emo as he appears, he's said in the past that we're going to be suprised by that the character is different to what we think

@1 Oh sod off. Do you want us to rain accolades on your head for not posting "FIRST"! There hasn't been a first poster on this site for months.
I thought SF was Capcom's longest running series? Oh and also to everyone hating on the Dante we see in the game, Ninja Theory already admonished to all you tools that that is just one of many Dante's appearances in the game. He ages throughout the game apparently.
@8 can't wait to see what thats about.

@9...you are an idiot. Everyday we read your immature comments that are meant to be disrespectful towards other people. Here's the funny thing, you've never posted anything useful or even on topic which begs the question why do you even come here? Is your life that boring? Flat out, you're a TROLL. And a coward too. You would never have the balls to say the things you say on here to another man's face. gEt a LiFe.

@hotamaru...
You are one weird duck pal. So here, let me explain...When you personally attack someone with your "@ someone comments" what do you expect? Eventually someone is going to call you out for acting like a tool and being so damn disrespectful! Last time I checked no one ever randomly calls you out for your comments so figure it out. Every one here is knowledgeable when it comes to video games. Yes, i want to hear your thoughts, but when you randomly attack people while hiding behind a computer it takes away from everything relevant...the topic, and what the other members have to say. You probably won't understand because it's like this is most forums, but PSU is cool because most people here are respectful and smart. Don't ruin a good thing with your "ME" attitude. Just get in where you fit in. If you comeback with another argument, don't even waste your time because now I've been rational, explained why I hate you and hopefuly you are ready to fit in.

lol @ spotted and his rational irrationality. #1 stating that he's not saying first is like someone who makes a pun on purpose then says no pun intended. if you don't want to bring attention to it, don't mention it.
"Every one here is knowledgeable when it comes to video games." Most people here aren't. What is knowledgeable anyways? Heard something from someone who read something on someones blog who hear about something from a friend who is the brother of someone who was at an event? Hyperbole, yes, but the point is that most people here don't know what they're talking about. They are mainly casual gamers, who hear tid bits of info here and there, like you and me. Also, most seem incapable of putting together a coherent and logical argument.
"When you personally attack someone with your "@ someone comments" what do you expect? " He attacks parts of opinions that are logically un-sound, or obviously biased. He's done this to me, too, so don't go and start yammering that I'm in league with him or something. For example, using two contradicting statements as your support, or stating your opinion as fact, will cause him to "call you out" with an @ statement.
You also seemed to have not read past his @1 statement as he brought information that you (probably) didn't know about. I sure didn't. I could tear apart the rest of your two posts, but I'm tired, and I don't see the need to defend someone who can eloquently defend himself but chooses not to.
I hope that with his "ageing" throughout the game he becomes less of a (seemingly) angsty, rebellious teenager, and becomes more like his suave, nonchalantly badass counterpart. He should also ditch the smokes too. His apathy towards his own wellbeing was always directed towards outside sources, not self-inflicted cancer. Though that begs the question, can Dante contract cancer? Does he even get a nicotine high? What, then, is the point of smoking, other than to "look" cool?

Heavenly Sword was awesome until the difficulty spike. I just couldn't be Bohan... I hate it when games have difficulty spikes like that... I like smooth progression.
